Some history about the property:
This neoclassical single story home was built for Albia and Leroy Wright in 1908. Leroy was born in California in 1879 and Albia was born in the same year in Iowa. Leroy was on the Los Gatos Town Council from 1944 to 1952 and the mayor of Los Gatos in 1951 and 1952. The Wrights owned a horse and wagon and a piano back then. By 1912, they still owned the piano but the horses were gone, replaced by an auto valued at $750, more than half the appraised value of the house!!
The Wrights lived in the house until 1930 and sold the house in 1940 to George & Laura Mors. George graduated from Los Gatos High school in 1918 and from Stanford in 1924 with a degree in mechanical engineering. For two of his Stanford years he roomed with John Steinbeck, who remained a lifelong family friend.
