  1. We have cruised Celebrity before and never had bad meals or a bad time or issues with overcrowded spaces.
As a matter of fact we are sailing an 11 night Panama Canal and Southern Caribbean ABC Islands cruise on Celebrity Ascent in a Aqua Sky Suite and the retreat experience in mid March.
Our first experience on a edge class ship.
We have sailed Norwegian, Carnival and MSC before and Celebrity in our minds is a much better overall line and experience.

Sounds like you were expecting a deluxe to luxury experience 🤔

Everybody has different tastes, expectations, wants and needs and it sounds like they were not up to your standards.

Maybe next time it will be better if you give them a chance.
    Thank you.

  2. Great review with good explanation on the opinions expressed.
We were on the Beyond on December 7 sailing, although we had no issues on the food aspect agree with the rest of the observations.

  3. Your assessment of the food situation on Celebrity is pretty accurate. We swap between Holland America, Celebrity and Princess depending on ship/cost/itinerary. For overall ship experience, we really like Celebrity, but Holland America has them beat on consistency for food and top notch service.

We sailed Celebrity Equinox – our table mates and us were making fun of the meals every night they were so mediocre. Then Reflection wowed us with fantastic food. My parents sailed on Silhouette, and were utterly disappointed (managers couldn’t care less, too). And finally our recent Ascent sailing was overall very good food, after we switched between those dining rooms multiple nights and finally landed at a table with good service/speed. I did find the food to be overall very good overall.

Anyways thanks for sharing your journey.

  4. I’ve been on Edge class ships 6 times (just not the Beyond) and I’ve always had exceptional food experiences. I prefer Aquaclass with Blu restaurant which is excellent. However you are stuck with the infinite veranda. The sunset veranda is much better but that won’t get you Blu. Otherwise Retreat suite class will give you less crowds at their own pool area and excellent food at Luminae. But this all comes with a significantly higher price tag but you do get a real balcony with a suite.

  5. Hi, how are you? I was shocked when you said that you were disappointed with the food. I was on the Beyond for a 12-day Mediterranean cruise in 2023. The food was fantastic! The buffet had the best buffet that we have experienced. The space was quite large. We never had a problem finding a seat, particularly if you went all the way in the Aft. Additionally, we found the food in Eden to be some of the best food which we have eaten on a cruise ship. In 2025, we sailed in Aqua class on one of the older ships. The food in Blu was fantastic. We decided to try the MDR. We were very disappointed. We eat in Blu for the rest of the trip. In any case, I think that I will have to disagree with you on the Beyond. Could they have slipped? It’s hard for me to believe that.

  6. You 2 hillbillies are clueless regarding cruise ships. Food on Celebrity is always fantastic. A table in your room? Like I said you know nothing. Pricing for drinks? Really? You’re on a ship, what do you expect on a sea day?

  7. I am surprised that food on Edge class is slipping, some say that Celebrity Edge is almost a different cruise line from Solstice and Millennium class. I sailed X three times between 2014 – 2018, they were all outstanding. In 2019, a total mess. Other than lettuce and radish, the ship had a severe shortage of vegetables on a 12-night to Hawaii. We ended up paying for a Murano lunch special, just to get a portion of green beans! They got low of spreads for dinner breads after day two, so we got pureed corn, carrots, green beans, and pees. The last night they introduced frozen mixed veggies into the buffet, which is where I think they go their puree material from. The buffet was lukewarm and lackluster. How do you run out of Maple syrup after leaving Canada? How are you out of pineapple while docked in Maui? Celebrity was under a different CEO back then, and the ship had just traveled from Argentina to Vancouver, so I don't think you should expect any of this. Based on reviews, they continue to slip, but Celebrity has a hardcore loyalty base that will criticize nothing.
