The fine art of wine-making is brought to life by this rare French wine corker. Beautifully crafted of wrought iron, this corker is specifically designed for ease of use. One by one, a bottle is placed on the iron platform, while a weighted lever cranks down to plunge a cork into the bottle. Any wine that spilled over was collected in the basin underneath. Most corkers were hand-held or sat on floors or table tops; seated models such as this are extremely rare. The base bears the instructions “mouillez les bouchons”, meaning “wet the corks.” Mechanically advanced yet endearingly rustic, this corker perfectly embodies the time-honored traditions of exceptional French wine-making.

Why is it a "rare glimpse"? I would imagine the French were very open about wine throughout their entire history no?
These were a dime a dozen, every winehouse and wine farmer had them. They aint rare, you can find better looking ones in second hand stores for 50 euros… and on fleamarkets they go as low as 20 euros soooo how much are you putting them up for?
Cool,does it come with a straw?😊
