Closing the shutter is, I believe, an advice from the mairie but it may be mandatory for your insurance company.
If the shutters stay open and your house is burglarized, some company may refuse to pay by saying you did not take all the precautions.
Read the small characters in your contract !
Closed shutters are also safer in case of tempest winds or heavy hail.
Isn’t dangerous not to have working smoke detectors working in your house while you’re away especially for insurance purposes?

That last look around the house when you go home is a wrench. We have done that so many times from la creuse. You’ll be back though soon enough. 🎉
