106 We are all packed up and headed back to Paris for our flight California. It’s always difficult. Not just making sure we have everything ready but to leave our friends.

We’re on our way to 10K subscribers! Thanks for helping us get there!

Description of Us:
We are a couple of American Francophiles who have come to truly appreciate so many things about French culture. We love the food, wine, art, and history of France, but especially the people we have met along the way. Join us as we make our dream of living in France a reality. Follow us as we explore the French living and a new life there with our beloved dog, Bernice. We enjoy learning about stone house renovation, wine, cooking, brocante shopping, and the French community we are now a part of.

  1. Safe travels! How do you organize to have a vehicle each time you visit France? Is that a rental for the full duration of your stay?

  2. What fun these videos have been. Welcome back to California where the sky has been raining all day Sunday.

  3. I have really enjoyed your daily posts. It is sad to see you leave France. Will you be posting when you get back to California? Have a safe journey back home.

  4. Closing the shutter is, I believe, an advice from the mairie but it may be mandatory for your insurance company.
If the shutters stay open and your house is burglarized, some company may refuse to pay by saying you did not take all the precautions.
Read the small characters in your contract !
Closed shutters are also safer in case of tempest winds or heavy hail.

  5. Isn’t dangerous not to have working smoke detectors working in your house while you’re away especially for insurance purposes?

  6. That last look around the house when you go home is a wrench. We have done that so many times from la creuse. You’ll be back though soon enough. 🎉
