The French have their own version of Shepherd’s Pie called Hachis Parmentier – and I made it with my 12-hour beef stock and braised beef.

This French comfort food layers rich beef filling with creamy mashed potatoes, topped with Gruyère and breadcrumbs, then baked until golden.

🥩 Made with:
– 12-hour homemade beef stock (full recipe on my channel)
– Braised beef from the stock
– Creamy mashed potatoes
– Gruyère cheese & breadcrumbs

The result? Rich, indulgent, and absolutely delicious.

  1. French or British ??? pick a side! 🇫🇷🇬🇧

Full 12-hour beef stock + braised beef recipe on the channel! What would YOU make with it? 👇

  2. Pretty standard COTTAGE pie recipe. Not sure what's French about it besides the accent when he said butta 😆

  3. Yeah this would be better than a cottage pie – but with all that effort put in, how would we ever have the energy to beat you in all those wars!?

Love from across the pond! 😉

  4. Shepards don’t raise cattle, they raise sheep. So wrong from go. That’s Cottage pie 🎉

  5. If it’s beef it’s cottage pie. Shepherds pie is lamb (hence shepherds look after sheep). Comparing beef to lamb is like apples to oranges. And even if you were to compare the French version to the British, it’s just a different technique. We call all slow braise cheap cuts. It’s not rocket science.

  6. I have the Larousse Gastronomique, it only calls for braised beef with lots of butter sauted onions on the inside. Is this your own twist on this dish?

  7. As a french myself, I never saw a such good looking and appetizing hachis parmentier. The average ones most likely look like puree on top of bologneese. May I have some, please? 🥺

  8. As a French, I approve of this video ❤️
Hachis parmentier is traditionally made with leftovers bourguignon or pot au feu.
The more modern version is made with ground beef but it's not as good.

  9. This dish is far superior shepherds pie… Ground beef is a far cry from shredded meat
Even if I like both of them
