Fine Dining New Year’s Eve Dinner at Home: Chicken Ballotine and Black Forest Cake!
As we approach the end of 2025, I thought you might be hosting a New Year’s Eve dinner and searching for ideas on what to serve your guests. For this occasion, I created two dishes, a main and a dessert, designed to be elegant, comforting, and stress-free.
The main course is a French classic chicken ballotine, filled with mushroom and chestnut duxelles, served with a mushroom sauce and a butter-sautéed mushroom and chestnut garnish. For dessert, I prepared a Black Forest gâteau, reimagined with a brownie base for an extra-rich chocolate flavour, with a mixed berry element instead of cherries.
Both dishes can be prepared in advance, allowing you to truly relax on New Year’s Eve and enjoy hosting without the last-minute rush and stress in the kitchen.
