  1. Bravo to the ‘82 Pichon Lalande. My tasting of this jewel was 20 years ago 😢, and thought then it was absolutely perfect. As I sipped, it literally sang to me! And I wondered how any Bordeaux, regardless of price, could offer more than this gorgeous lady. Moments like this are “precious and few.”

  2. Each of these tastings are captivating. It’s enjoyable to vicariously experience them in these videos. Bravo and all the best in ‘26.

  3. All in the range of 300$ to 800$ a bottle. I would have loved to her about reveltions in the 50$ range.

  4. Wow! You've tasted some really extraordinary wines in 2025, John. I'm toasting to your having even more fabulous wine experiences in '26. Cheers!

  5. I was watching your video while shopping with wife at Costco today. Very impresive wines you had John, I say "Bravooo" to you and I hope 2026 brings to you excellent wines and memories. 2025 for me was not that active at all, maybe 70 bottles or so during the year. As I have said to you before, my comfort zone is below $200 although I am a collector of VCC, La Conseillante, VHR, Maybach among others. I really loved my Leoville Poyferre 18, DdC 2018 ( which I am opening today), Petrolo Galatrona 2011 ( maybe top 5 of my life), Masetto 2010 ( very nice but very overhyped for me), and definitely my all time fav for $50 or so : Vina Tondonia Reserva 2010. Cheers !!!!!!!

  6. Amazing list! I always enjoy hearing your thoughts! While maybe not the rarest or most expensive wine I tried this year, the most memorable for me was a ‘07 Tablas Creek Esprit Blanc. I had never tried an aged white Rhône style wine, let alone from my home state of California. And I grabbed it for only $35 too. Cheers and happy new year!

  7. What a list! I have drank a fair amount of Gran Reserva Rioja, but the 2010 Castillo Ygay is so elegant and classy. I was lucky to purchase a few bottles before it was voted WS wine of the year. The other bottles are aging gracefully. In your opinion, when do you think that vintage will be at its peak?

  8. My best wine for 2025 was the 2016 Clos Apalta. We actually had it at the winery a week ago. Maybe tastes better when you are on vacation. 🙂

  9. Great video John, thanks for sharing your experience with us! The Comtesse is always stunning, even in weak vintages. Once I spotted it in a blind tasting guessing it would be an 85, but it was indeed an 84, but it showed so well that I couldn't believe it would be a week vintage.

  10. Impressive John! The Lalala’s impressed me as well this year, from ‘98 that was 👍🏻🍷
May 2026 again bring great wines! Cheers, Tim

  11. Great list and lucky you have tasted all those wines! Among the top I have tasted this year are a 2005 Masseto, 2001 Valbuena and 1999 Mouton Rothschild. Let’s hope this 2026 comes better. Happy New Year

  12. Every one of these wines is truly exceptional. 🍷🔥 Thank you for sharing such thoughtful insights into the wines you’ve enjoyed throughout the year—your knowledge and generosity make these journeys even more special. Wishing you many opportunities to discover exciting wines and enjoy beautiful travels, always with health and happiness. Cheers and Happy New Year, John! 🍷🥂🎉

  13. As a noob I enjoyed this and wish you a happy and prosperous New Year. My only contradictory thought was, "No way I'm spitting this one out! Woo-hoo!"

  14. Great Video!!!! I open today the Torbreck struie 2021 you recomend a year ago wow!!!! really good recomendation i will buy if i can a few bottles more because i love it!! Concentrate intense amazing experience the texture top nocht wow thx!!!!
I recomend Kalamity from Oxer white and red you deserved excelence, next if you can find Veravier from Carlos Sanchez maybe some bottle of las Bravas 2017 or 2018 from Catena amazing Malbec or Monopole Gran Reserva from Cvne, this year i taste a lot of wines but this 5 i will add to my collection and maybe some other wine for small producers like Jose Gil Camino de Ribas La Cóncova, or similar…
