Tour Description: Walking Gaillac – History, Wine & Southern Charm
Step into the heart of Occitanie with this guided walking tour through Gaillac, one of France’s oldest wine towns. Nestled along the tranquil Tarn River and surrounded by rolling vineyards, Gaillac offers a unique blend of medieval charm, vibrant history, and rich viticultural heritage.

Together, we’ll explore:

The Abbaye Saint-Michel, birthplace of Gaillac wine and a symbol of the town’s thousand-year legacy.

The historic center, with its red-brick facades, hidden courtyards, and lively squares like Place du Griffoul.

Local secrets, from ancient pigeonniers to half-timbered houses and Renaissance alleyways.

Panoramic views over the Tarn Valley and the surrounding vineyards.

Along the way, we’ll stop to taste local wines, learn about Gaillac’s unique grape varieties like Mauzac and Braucol, and uncover the stories behind its nickname: “The cradle of southwest French wine.”

Whether you’re a history lover, wine enthusiast, or curious traveler, this walking tour will reveal the authentic soul of Gaillac—one step, one sip, and one story at a time.
