Good morning from aucks …
Stacey you always share awesome food. My meal planner just keeps growing 😊
Thanks again for your YouTube friendship you are a star
Hey Stacey …..when you said about the dog barking and the tractor breaking down , I was expecting a loud exasperated …’ get in behind…’ from dear husband coming in through the window …..alas it didn’t ….wouldnt that have been a hoot 😇
Looks wonderful and I’m with you don’t really care for soggy bread. Looking forward to doing the same! ❤
There seems to be an issue with getting the recipe to come up. Anyone know what I need to do? ❤
The soup looks amazing and the idea of using parmesan cheese in place of a bread slice is perfect. Thank you!
Have you tried this soup with chicken stock? I’m allergic to Beef but I loved onion soup.
I love the idea of a cheese crisp. I usually toast a piece of French bread with the cheese and dip it, instead of floating it on top of the soup, for the same reasons you mentioned. I'm definitely going to try the cheese crisp!
Bedankt
Food is too expensive to waste, I think you should make a formal complaint to the shop that sold the onions. Must be your northern hemisphere friends who want a soup recipe. I don't think I'll be in the worst of the heatwave Australia is suffering but it will be hot enough.🦘🎄
I love homemade French onion soup.. l will have to try to download the ebook on my computer.. phone failed to keep it..
Good to see you smiling and laughing at the sheep, interrupting you at the beginning.. you are looking stronger..
Soups are a meal, and people can make them cheaply all year round..
Much love and appreciation from Australia..
Thank you Stacey!❤
Hello Stace. I'm growing red and brown onions for the first time this year because I'm sick to death of the shit quality of fresh food in the shops these days. They're bulbing up quite nicely and should be ready early in the new year and I can't wait. I eye them off everytime I go outside because I just want to eat them and I want to eat them now ! 😄
Hi Stacey, i d/l your soup recipe book. We all loved the pumpkin and tomatoes soup. The bread rolls were a massive hit as well. Thank you xx
That looks both super easy to make, and delicious!
I too adore onions!
(New Follower from Ontario, Canada ❤ )
Oh boy, I’m going to see how many onions I have….. I need this right now !!!❤
I love onions as well. French onion soup is my favorite.
Hi stracey, that sounds yummyo ty so much
Great minds think alike! Terribly cold here in New Brunswick, Canada today so I made a pot of onion soup…..so yummy. I toast bread cubes which makes them much easier to eat. So yummy. Love your channel. 🇨🇦
I love home made soup! Look forward to trying this one thank you Stacey x
my favourite meal is SOUP … you are making me drool 🤤🥣
This sounds so delicious. I love onion soup. It's your ebook delivered via email with a link or does it have to be downloaded right away? How that makes sense.
French onion is one of my favorites, but I love homemade soup anyhow. A big thing in a Scottish winter. As for the onions re Woolworths. Yes, they are pretty awful, 😔
yum, I also love onions to Stace, thank you for always being you, and sharing the love💞 lot's of hugs from Aussie Land🤗🥣🧅🧅🧅🧅
Looks delicious!
My mother would make me onion soup each time I had bronchitis. Old fashioned remedy for clearing the chest.
This is definitely a soup on my list for next winter as I LOVE onions. I have tried it once before when my granddaughter made a pot of it. She didn't thicken it with flour or she wouldn't have offered me any so I will have to ask her what her thickening agent was.
However, I tend to thicken things like casseroles with powdered gluten free gravy which works a treat, so that may be my choice of thickener along with a tablespoon of gluten free powdered beef stock. Though I do Have a few cartons in the cupboard as Woolies had them on a great special which I thought were the small 250ml ones but they turned out to be the big cartons.
I also LOVE your cheese idea & will be incorporating that idea with my pumpkin soups as well as cheese is one of my other favourite foods. I was just finishing some toast with a thick layer of vegemite & slices of cheddar cheese on top when I started watching this video so I have a real cheesy taste in my mouth at the present time. 🥰
I am about to buy & try a quick & easy cheesecake when you are not having a cheesecake. It just needs a biscuit base, set in fridge in a lined tin. Then make the topping which is a packet of jelly of choice, dissolved in one cup of water & then chilled in a container in the fridge. Next in a bowl whip two cups of cream until thickened, then slowly add the cooled jelly mix to it & whip until thickened. Pour on top of the biscuit base covered in fruit or berries of your choice or stir some through your mixture before pouring it onto the base if you wish & pop into the fridge to set. Then take a second pack of the jelly & again dissolve in a container with a cup of water & allow it to cool. This is then poured over the back of a spoon slowly onto the surface of your dessert. Place back into the fridge to completely set, about 3 or 4 hours. Then decorate the jelly top before serving if you wish.
I came across this easy recipe last week on Backyard Chef so I am going to try it this week to see how it goes with my choice of lemon jelly & blueberries on a gingernut biscuit base. If I am successful, then this is what I will make for christmas day lunch with my brother & nephew. Woolies don't have a great supply of gluten free plain biscuits that don't cost the earth but both my brother & nephew like ginger. 🥰
I have always wanted to make French Onion soup. This is a sign! 😊 Thank you.
looks great gonna give this a try
I've been meaning to make this soup since your ebook came out. You've just reminded me that I must get on to it. Looks great!
Hey Stace, I’ve only just watched your video and as usual? You never disappoint 👍🏼.one day I’ll get around to making it as it does look so delicious 😋 I have never eaten French onion soup before and I’m almost 60 lol.
I believe you need to sharpen your knife,😉
How come your eyes are ok when chopping the onions?? My eyes get SO painful! You are very lucky! Unless you have a secret??
When I was a child we would only eat onion soup on Saturday due to the amount of garlic that went into it. This way my parents ensured they wouldn’t smell to garlicky at work on Monday 😂😂
Marvellous! This is in the weekly rotation now! ❤😊 So good to have a visit!
Yum Yum Yum ❤
I am an onion lover too Stacey, thank you for this recipe. Have a great day😊
Yes. Absolutely going to try this. Am loving your recipes and the way you explain how to do things. Wonderful tips. Thank you
Sorry, but what you have made is NOT French onion soup. For French onion soup you have to cook the onions until they are all brown, then add a bit of sugar (preferably brown sugar), and cook until the whole thing is kind of sticky and clumps together, then slowly add boiling water a bit at a time whilst stirring (so you don't get clumps of onion floating in liquid, and that is the basic French onion soup. You can then add garlic, or whatever spices or bits of vegetables you want – but the whole thing will be a dark brown colour.
Yum that soup looks so delicious Stacey.❤
That looks to be a fabulous recipe. That cheese would be delicious just as you added it. Will make some soon. Thank you.❤
Love making this soup !! It's perfect on these cold and bitter winter days in NE Pennsylvania ❤ Thank you for sharing ❤
Hi Stacey! My daughter and I would love this. I personally like the toasty cheese bread on top, but this looks great too. I use organic better than bouillon paste and it’s really tasty.
Yummo! Glad we stumbled upon your channel recently, really enjoy your videos 😁
Love the idea of the cheese crisp in place of the usual cheese toast on top! Many thanks for sharing😊😊😊
Absolutely love & appreciate all you share Stacey. I’m loving the soup eBook, it’s brilliant thank you. Love the cheese idea ❤❤
