Quite interesting really, during Christmas time, one thing that’s very popular in Lebanon is the bûche de Noël, of which you can buy very exquisite ones from renowned patissiers to downright lousy ones from supermarkets, and here Fabian would have a stroke listening to non-native speakers trying to say it, between bèche de Noël to those who speak a bit more English with bouche de Noël 👄 to Arabic only speakers saying biche de Noël🦌 (the one you’ll hear the most, year after year) … il en verrait de toutes les couleurs.
What’s also as popular are Italian Christmas cakes, the panettone natale, and far in third place comes the traditional English Pudding along with crackers, this applies not only to Christian households but Muslim ones equally, In food as well as decorations.
Raclette is somewhat of a big favorite here amongst genZ people, along with the getting the correct hardware and making it oneself, especially as a fireside winter time date, or gathering, more so when winter is wintery, not sunny, Brie as well, along with some of our wines, as for older gens perhaps Camembert, or Reblochon (my own favorite), Caprice Des Dieux as well … many other more noble French and Swiss cheeses too

en 🇨🇭 on prononce le e de fondue, tres légèrement peut-être mais on le prononce et la meilleur,pour moi, c est la moitié-moitié ! la raclette est spéciale a faire avec une demi meule car il faut etre un certain nombre de personne, mais la majorité des gens font des raclonnettes avec l appareil électrique sur la table ou chacun a un petit poëlon…….mais PAS DE CHARCUTERIE ! 🇨🇭 = pain au chocolat ! gruyere, c est aussi un petit village du canton de fribourg, avec un chateau du xiiie, un musée HR Giger, ainsi que des restos ou on peut manger des fondues moitié-moitié ou des fondues vacherin ! salutations 🇨🇭
Cette année ce sera escargots, fois gras, saumon fumé et crevettes, et coquille Saint Jacques et buche de noël au beurre. En vin j'ai déjà des bonne bouteille de Pinot gris au frais^^. (salive rien que d'écrire mon menu slurp).
06:13 French pastries… Il y a plusieurs années, la première fois où ma belle-soeur est allée en France, elle voulait une pâtisserie comme dessert. Ici au Québec nous avons été longtemps à faire la même erreur qu'elle a fait dans la vidéo, nous ajoutions l'adjectif "française" apès le mot pâtisserie, non pas la soupe à l'oignon. Elle demande donc "une pâtisserie française". Le serveur a dû être aussi étonné que vous et l'a bien reprise pour son adjectif inutile…

To pronounce "u" correctly. I told them to say "eeh" and, at the same time, move the lips together for sending a kiss…it worked like a charm!
