I tried to top last year’s Dollar Tree Thanksgiving… and I think I might’ve done it. If nothing else, I made it fancier lol

    does Dollar Tree sell fresh food? a small chicken and a bunch of fresh carrots, for example, would be economical. we don't have Dollar Tree in my city.

    I swear Philadelphia cream cheese is far superior! Ty for using that…and I love that you did this. I am going to get a bunch of things I have & do some shelf stable meals & put them in our cabinet we have for the neighborhood. ❤ & esp do something for Christmas bc many ppl, esp elderly don't have many things to be able to make this ….each year a friend of mine make platters and bags of toiletries for homeless ppl. I think it shows ppl kids so much to be thankful for ❤

    I did this year a smoked turkey , cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, candied yams , rosemary garlic mash, with lumpia as a appetizer and my daughters famous Nutella smores brownies

    I ended up making Chef Kenji's potato Gratin dish, but between the Gruyere, Parmesan, and heavy cream it ended up being more expensive than this entire 3 course meal! 😵‍💫 I mean it was phenomenal tasting, but I'm honestly more impressed with your 4-person $20 meal, and it's much more realistic for everyday people! 💖

    I think some people are missing the point about the fresh produce. Sometimes people have limited funds and the means to get to multiple stores and sometimes the only option is the one store closest to you. While Dollar Tree does not offer fresh fruits and vegetables, sometimes a good rinse in water or lower sodium variety does help. She is not avoiding the inclusion of fresh produce; she is making meals that are easily attainable for all people, no matter the budget or limitations they may have. If you can include ingredients for a green salad or a bag of fresh carrots in place of the canned ones in your shopping, please do, but don’t criticize someone who is trying to make budget-friendly meals more attainable for the every day person.

    I have an unrelated question. What kind of counter is that? We need to replace our countertops and currently have tile that we’re able to put hot items on straight from the stove or oven. Can that counter handle hot items?

    As a former DT stocker, I was exclusively in food and loved to point out new items and great deals. Never be afraid to ask what’s new in your favorite department. I would put great deal out the day after our truck arrived in the morning! Family size boxes of Lucky Charms, Annie’s granola bars (5pack), Jello cheesecake mix, etc for 1.25! Find out when the truck delivery day is and be there the next day.

    I just decided to bake a nice quiche for myself it's cheaper and I can get my cream cheese cheeper for that the dollar store..I live alone . It looks nice u did great
