The Clos Henri “Otara” Glacial Stones Sauvignon Blanc 2024 is a once-in-a-generation white wine — a fusion of Loire Valley pedigree and Marlborough power, crafted by the famed Bourgeois family of Sancerre. This is no ordinary Sauvignon Blanc.

A pH of 2.97 and 14 percent alcohol in the same wine is nearly impossible. Yet Clos Henri achieved it through organic farming, extreme canopy management, meticulous fruit selection, and terroir so stony it’s literally called Glacial Stones.

The result is a Sauvignon Blanc that is electrically acidic yet deeply rich, full of minerality, lift, texture, and concentration. Aromatics explode: citrus oil, flint, sea spray, tropical lift, and Loire-style perfume layered over NZ depth.

No oak. No tricks. Nothing hidden. Just pure, naked terroir. It’s no wonder Wine Advocate awarded it 96 points — their highest Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc score ever.

If you think you’ve tasted great Sauvignon Blanc, think again. This bottle rewrites the rules.

  1. if I had to bet, 14.5abv with 2.5PH is result of multiple harvests and not some crazy vineyard work😅

  2. Thank you so much Kyle! We're so absolutely thrilled to hear your insight and appreciation for a wine that we're so lucky to be able to make – we really love this stye and so it is incredibly fulfilling to have this love shared by yourself and the Wine Ex team. "If Sancerre and Cloudy Bay had a baby" is killing us! Much love from New Zealand!
