Ingredients:
4-5 cups sliced sweet onions
2 quarts beef stock
1 tbsp sherry or malt vinegar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp butter
Sprig of rosemary and thyme
1 cup dry white wine
Salt and pepper to taste
Sliced sourdough
Sliced Gruyère or Swiss cheese

When cutting onions, the easy trick is to breathe through the mouth. Helps a little
ATK was testing caramelizing onions and they said to cover them for the first few minutes

French onion soup is one of my favorites 🤤 and that chef's looks exquisite 😋 I like to toast the bread before putting it in the soup because I can't handle the soggy texture of the bread when it absorbs the liquid 🤢and that helps a little to delay that process ☺
