The French Revolution began in 1789 due to social inequality, a huge national debt after France helped the Americans gain independence, and widespread famine. French society was divided into three estates: the clergy, the nobility, and the commoners, who paid most of the taxes. When King Louis XVI called a meeting of the estates to solve the financial crisis, the commoners were ignored, so they formed the National Assembly and stormed the Bastille, marking the start of the revolution. The king was captured and later executed, which alarmed European monarchies and led to the War of the First Coalition, where countries like Austria, Prussia, Britain, Spain, and others fought France. Despite this, France defeated them thanks to Napoleon Bonaparte. Internally, the revolution became radical, with Robespierre leading the Reign of Terror, executing thousands suspected of opposing the revolution. Robespierre was eventually executed in 1794, the radicals were removed, and in 1799 Napoleon overthrew the government, ending the revolution.

    Tbh kinda feel bad for King Louis and Marie antoinette… They did try their best to feed the poor by using their own personal funds and even sold their silver plates to buy grain… I mean they were bad leaders yea, but they don't deserve to be beheaded

    antoinette wasnt even bad, she tried to help the peasants and commoneers, but france was way too bankrupt and she lacked the skill as a queen or leader to help the peasants significantly.

    Same reason a Canadian revolution is going to happen, and it's the liberal government that is causing it. It's not about if it will happen, it's when. Canadians have had enough of the liberal government taxing citizens to death. Lines at food banks go out the door and down the block. Our property, rights and freedoms are being taken away. What do you think is going to happen with all this going on while the liberal government continues with their lies, scandals, corruption and damaging policy's.
