but what is that crap?? the beauty of the internet is that people talk without ever having actually eaten Italian food. nothing you've done is even remotely comparable to a real Italian recipe. keep eating your disgusting concoctions, but don't compare that crap to real Italian food. 🤦🏽♂️
If you ask this man about Italian history, he responds with pizza, mafia, and mandolin.
(Also, as mentioned by others, "overrated" and "overpriced" are two different things, and talking about Italian cuisine and saying that you've eaten pasta in the United States is like saying I'm an expert in Turkish cuisine because I ate a kebap in rome.)
Italian is blande but yet expensive and overrated. People that tried Greek, Spanish, Mexican, Armenian, Georgian, Persian, Indian, Chinese, Korean and Japanese food know that Italian food is pure crap!
Italian food bring us a focus to the ingredients especially since they're pricey. French food brings focus to the chef and technique. Which is so funny why Italians are snobby about food. It's not like they did anything.
He talks about how much italian food is overrated because it's so simple to make and he proced to demonstrate that he know nothing about italian food… Lemon in pesto? Cream? Chiken with pasta? butter, wine and cream WITH PESTO!!?? Why you just don't shut up, please…
Italians discovered pasta from Asians and tomatoes from South America and they thought they became gatekeepers of food all the while making the most basic bland food possible.
maybe is overrated, but our populatior rest slim fit in old age too. We have few people in percentage overweight. You can't says the same of american people…..
You pay 40 dollars for a bowl of pasta? Nobodies fault but you 😂 Italian food is an art and Italians put severe effort to preserve their traditions. With 10 dollars you can experience amazing Italian food at home. If Italian lifestyle isn't for you that's ok! But to call Italian food overrated is not true.
"Italian food is ovverrated" "I don't like it because here in america it costs too much and is basically only pasta" Ok.. in america and tourist spots in italy. 😁 That's basically clickbait. Also here are some other italian foods Pizza Arancina/o Lasagna Caciucco We also have good wine and oil (not the ones you buy at the supermarkets, those are not great everywhere in the world tbh)
As a Italian you probably haven’t had REAL Italian food. That’s why you think it’s overrated. Try real Italian food and you’ll see it’s good if it’s cooked right.
Guys, if you never visited Italy you never tasted italian food before. And even if you did, there is a small chance that you picked the wrong places, the ones for tourists.
Already seeing the dish you are showing at the beginning, the pasta with pesto and some (meat?) on it, that's not Italian.
The olive garden is not an Italian kitchen. And so many others, probably most of them.
Visit Italy with a good Italian guide and you will understand the difference.
You can also check the pasta grammar channel which is definitely a good authentic and honest channel.
And yes, I'm Italian.
I assure you, 100%, you don't find what we mean in the US.
Italians: "My nonna would spin in her grave if I cooked/ate/drank coffee like you, vaffanculo you mangia cakes!"
Rest of the world: "And we're supposed to give a shit about your dead grandma why? It's noon, gimme a cappuccino! And a pineapple pizza too! Where's Olive Garden?"
Saying italian food is overrated and only mentioning pasta shows how clueless you are. It's actually the most diverse cuisine on the planet and you clearly never set foor in Italy to begin with.

Reported for child abuse, that little pasta dish didn’t deserve the “chicken on top” treatment 😭
So you coocked chicken breast and then, on that fat with other fat (butter) you cooked your "almost pesto" ….. mmh…..

Everything you just put into that dish is over 40.
Italian food is wildly overrated and in most Italian restaurants both in Italy and abroad it is boring rubbish.

Viva l’Italia
Italian food is totally overrated. Mediterranean food is way better.
Bro got cooked in comments
I’m addicted to pasta.
Saying italian food is overrated and only mentioning pasta shows how clueless you are. It's actually the most diverse cuisine on the planet and you clearly never set foor in Italy to begin with.
It’s overrated because Italy makes it seem like it’s the best food you could ever have. It’s great food but not $30 for a bowl of noodles.
So you eat Italian food in America? You are very smart and chicken on pasta ? Really and you are calling that Italian food ?
