In the video, Bob Paulinski, Master of Wine shares his top five under $30 per bottle wine values that he’s experienced over the last 40+ years. Wines that you can buy with confidence for gifting, dinner parties and for personal enjoyment. For starters, there were a lot of wines to sort through. They had to be classic, consistent, benchmark examples that display a strong sense of place, wines that can be bought with complete confidence year after year. The list was pared down to those who most over-deliver and have never disappointed. Bottom line, it really came down to the most enjoyable $30 and under value-priced wines that you will want to drink again and again.

  1. I highly agree with both the Vietti and the Ridge. Theses are my standby. I will have to hunt for the others.
    Thanks.

  2. Bob, great video . I've had a number of these wines as I rarely purchase over $30. I love the Vietti and another Barbera D'Alba I get is GD Vajra. Have you had Richard Rottier's Moulin A Vent ? They're terrific and reasonably priced

  3. If I were to recommend one Youtube channel to wine drinkers of any experience it would by this channel no question. These are wines people can find; there's lots of variety; the descriptions and reasons why people should consider these wines are easy to understand, etc. Love to see Ridge in this list. With Shauna Rosenblum (from that Rosneblum family) taking over the winemaking at Ridge Lytton Springs, the classic style will continue for decades more, not something that can be said about many wineries.

  4. Love great cru Beaujolais. I’m down to my last 4 bottles of 2019
Jean-Paul Brun Terres Dorées Moulin a Vent "Les Thorins". Had one last week and showed zero signs of fading. Difficult to resist tho! So getting more years out of the remaining is doubtful 😂

  5. Thanks for taking the time to make this. I had last one based upon your videos and loved it. I agree on letting it breath

  6. Bob, fantastic video again! My wife and I just enjoyed a Juwel Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) from Rheinhessen with a traditional Dutch mustard soup. The wine's fresh acidity was a great counterpoint to the creamy, sharp mustard. I'm really looking forward to trying the Vietti Barbera d'Alba. It sounds like it will excel alongside my homemade pizzas! I'm picking up my notebook for this one. Thanks again!

  7. Thanks, Bob. Caves de Turckheim pinot blanc is one of my favourite cheapy whites. I have visited that co-op and the whole range offers great value. Agree about cru Beaujolais, great value – I drank a 2020 Cote de Brouilly last week; excellent. I too enjoy Barbera from a reputable source. The current vintage of Ribera del Duero (Bohorquez) I am enjoying is 2010. This weekend I opened a Beaumont 2014 – peak of condition and a real bargain, imho.
Wine-loving friends are visiting this coming week and staying for a couple of nights: Condrieu, Brunello di Montalcino, 2015, and, perhaps, a Burlotto, 2012 Barolo, are all on the cards. There will also, of course, be Champagne and Port. In between some hill walking.

  8. Ok, it looks like you went shopping in my cellar. I’ve every single wine you’ve listed except the Tempranillo, but I do have others from Ribera in that price point. Great video

  9. The 2022 Terlan Pinot Bianco is one of my favorites!
I would add Chateau Minuty's "M" Rose, which has been one of the few wines my dining companion and I enjoyed across multiple vintages (2018, 2020-2022). Even with some apparently significant variation in grape composition (e.g. 2018 and 2020 had no Tibouren), they all tasted beautifully on their own and amazingly with food while having an optimal balance of fruits, subtle minerality, and dryness for an entry-level Provence Rose. While the category isn't one we drink often, when compared to Whispering Angel, Fleur de Mer, or Gerard Bertrand Cotes des Roses, we enjoyed it significantly more. Actually, we even enjoyed "M" more than their next step up "Prestige," which while as enjoyable as Whispering Angel, tasted somewhat bland with the Vermentino instead of being more characteristically salty and mineral.

  10. Very curious that this high quality wines are ready to drink being 2023/2024 harvest for a red…..here in Argentina I've bottles of very decent every day wine from 2024 that I've paid $2 or $3 and they still need one or two years to be drinkable..

  11. Another great video. Love Ridge wines, but hard to find in Europe. Always have bottle or two of Geyserville in the cellar. Will look for Three Valleys in the future, can’t say I’ve tried it. Thanks Bob.

  12. Thank you bob …another great presentation. ..have you ever tried non alcoholic wines …..? Or would they not be worth consideration due to lack of quality and or limited variety……thank u so much if you have time to comment as I would like to know if there are any non alcoholic wines of distinction

  13. I've only had the Terlan and the Emilio Moro, both great value for money. For whites almost anything that comes out of Südtirol is outstanding. Recently I've discovered their mineral forward Gewürztraminers.

  14. This is amazing. Would love to see more of your favorites. I’ve enjoyed every one of your recommendations thus far. Only problem is finding places to put the bottles!

  15. We visited the Emilio Moro bodega 2 days ago. I totally agree with your review. I agree enough that we left with several hundred euros of their products.
