Creme Brulee French Toast Croissants

Ingredients:
For the French Toast:
2 croissants
1 egg
¼ tsp granulated sugar
¼ cup + 2 tbsp milk
½ tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
¼ tsp vanilla extract

For the Custard:
2 egg yolks
½ cup milk
2 tbsp granulated sugar
½ tbsp unsalted butter
½ tsp vanilla extract

For the Sugar:
½ cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp water

Directions:
For the French Toast: In a bowl, whisk together the egg and sugar
Add in the milk, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract
Soak the croissants
On a buttered pan on medium heat, cook the croissants on all sides until browned
For the Custard: In a small pot over low heat, combine the egg yolk, milk, and sugar
Whisk constantly until thick enough to coat the back of a spoon
Remove from the heat and add in the butter and vanilla extract
Once cooled, place in a piping bag
Cut a hole in the side or bottom of each french toast croissant and fill with the custard
For the Sugar: In a nonstick pan on medium/ low heat, combine the sugar and water
Mix with a spatula just until the sugar is dissolved, then do not stir anymore
Bring to a boil and let bubble until golden brown
At this point, swirl the pan to mix, then place the croissants into the sugar
Turn constantly until coated, then remove from the pan
Let cool, then serve

  3. Crema catalana and creme brulee are really damn different, dont know about the england one but the french one and the spanish one taste really, really different, i personally prefer Crema catalana, it is also easier to make

  4. Idk what crema catalana is but it seems interesting (no se un montón de pasteles que existen que son española o hispanica jaja)
