What would you like to see next? 😊
The dumb thumbnail makes no sense. What is the dude on the left doing that the lady on the right isn't?😂
I cannot eat a French breakfast. I would feel terrible. It's meal of carbs only. I need eggs, cheese, etc.
You should not show approval.for Macrons wife – who slapped her husband, your president. In contrast our American First Lady, Melania Never would slap her husband, our president Trump! Now
Your French breakfast has too much sugar. In contrast n English breakfast includes cheese and meat to put into a bread and eggs.which is healthier.
Les conftures sont dans les emballages d'origine sur votre table. Elles devraient être dans un autre contenant.
and LOOK who's always picking on melania.
looks like there's some envy and nastiness involved here.
Not sure why you put a big X on the picture of First Lady Melania. She's not French. And as Americans, we have our own ways of doing things. Why would she be held up to some unnecessary French standard? Using her picture for clicks and views, obviously. 🙄
There is so much sweet things, will you not get a sugar rush and then headache?! 🤔
Just a note to say how much I enjoyed your presentation.
I think you could also provide, as a second track, the native French one! (AI French with the video is not as elegant as yours, as I expected.)
And drinking coffee from such a big pot looks ridiculous to Italians.
But then Melania is doing everything right. Even better than Mr. Brigitte.
That is a not very elegant of you, to use Melania as a wrong example, especially in comparison with a guy like Mr. Brigitte.
I thought it was only one video, but you did this mistake several times. I'm pretty sure I can get through life without your advice. You could have easily fixed it- but don't seem to care. Not elegant at all.
That’s how every Asian families drink their tea , in a bowl. My family drinks milk tea in the morning, that’s our tradition .
I love watching your videos! I love learning different cultures , It’s so fun to find similarities between our cultures. I can tell that you are a person with a big heart and a lot of compassion. However, I don’t quite understand why you often show Melania in a negative way on your covers. I understand that we all have different political views, but I don’t think she deserves to be portrayed as a bad example.
Maybe your intention was to compare the U.S. and France—to show how Americans might seem less elegant? I moved to the U.S. about 10 years ago, and I come from a very traditional Asian family with many rules and etiquette. Yes, I experienced culture shock at first, but things here are not as bad as some people think. Americans are hardworking, helpful, and friendly. I never hesitate to ask questions or seek help—people are always willing to assist without hesitation.
When a society grows quickly—with a fast economy and modern technologies the pace of life naturally speeds up. American families have to keep up with that pace, which often means they don’t have time to sit down and enjoy a long breakfast or lunch. Parents volunteer at schools, dads coach soccer games, and daily life is busy. There aren’t small neighborhood shops where you can just walk downstairs to buy groceries or eat dinner—almost everywhere, you have to drive. It’s a completely different lifestyle, and it’s not really comparable.
Even though there are many YouTube videos from French creators saying Americans lack etiquette or elegance, I often see American viewers responding politely, saying they’ll learn or appreciate the advice. But in truth, they already have their own kind of etiquette—kindness, openness, and respect. And that’s something I truly admire about them.
One thing to mention is that classy women don't smack their husband.
I just love everything about this video…including your gorgeous beautiful accent and every single word you say in it. The napkin bit is funny 😅
I learned eating like lions ,or like rosesflowers because iam princes
Everything eating like honor
Why is the front advert picture showing Brigitte Macron with a croissant with a green tick and Melania Trump with a red cross? You are saying that you eat a croissant the way Melania is doing.
l guess it is kind and elegant and respectful to put a picture of the US First Lady as a big culprit of lack of etiquette … This shows lack of class and grace .. etiquette is meaningless without these …
Oh get over yourself. I spent three months in Paris and saw plenty of French people eating croissants and a host of different pastries on the street. Bakeries would go out of business if everyone observed all these niceties.
What I’ve noticed is that any nobody posts these types of videos and use clickbait.
🤦♀️ Clickbait: MRS. Trump vs MR. Macron shows how brainwashed you are… Sad that even all that etiquette hasn’t helped you much…
Loved this video and I subscribed it, it is long but full of important information that must do it, good job will watch all the other videos with great pleasure, thank you and go for the good work. 👏🤩
Exactly! I was taught that too, Australia👋Maybe these are British customs.
Sit down meals are only good if it's relaxed and you will actually converse pleasantly. It's awful if you'll be criticized for dropping a blob of jam on the tablecloth or table or for holding your knife upside down etc or anything else, or the people don't speak to each other or are unpleasant. I had 4 siblings. It was always so tense that I could barely eat. Great way to end up with an eating disorder. I ended up having a milk shake (no ice cream)with an egg blended in and Ovaltine .Blenders were pretty new then.
Usually we have bacon, eggs, toast, tea, milk, orange juice. Dad loved fried tomatoes as well and sometimes we'd have very small breakfast sausages, French toast, pancakes( usually on week-ends) but always started with porridge (not gruel)lol
We'd never use our own knife in the butter or margarine. Could leave crumbs in it-not good seeing peanut butter in the jam or jam in the butter.
The butter knife would be used to cut it, if cold, or scope a pat or two of butter that is put onto the bread plate (to the left and outside and near the top of the fork that is on the Left, not right) and then spread with our own butter knife.
What's really nice is having a pat or two of butter in your own, individual butter pat plate or very shallow, tiny bowl, or butter curls or balls.
(not found at my place lol.)
The same for jam from a jam jar with a spoon that is used to put a reasonable amount of jam on the bread plate. Then it's spread onto the small, broken off piece of bread or muffin that we're going to eat.
Not bites from a whole slice. That's for no one can see me and dashing out the door when you are on your own lol.
Our orange juice from concentrate looks exactly like the juice in the pitcher. It does not look like the yellowy, cloudy water there.
I don't squeeze oranges although I love the taste and would drink twice as much if I did. )
I am not sure what you say if you don't like soft boiled eggs which I don't. I can literally feel ill after eating them but am fine with hard boiled-a food sin lol
You probably should apologize for this a bit, as some consider it an art boiling a 3 minute egg properly and get offended if you don't eat them 'raw', in my opinion. ) Often I think that's because the cook might not know how to hard boil one properly and not have a gray stripe around the yolk? Do you think so? What exactly is wrong with having hard boiled eggs instead of soft eggs?
We also tap the egg shell, remove the broken bits and then use a spoon to eat it.
Please note the egg cup.
Not held in the hand.
I have been to a bnb on a lovely farm sw of Toronto and many times, that had only 3 minute eggs and did not offer egg cups. I don't know why. What a mess. Maybe that's the Swiss way of eating soft boiled eggs, or saving time by not having to wash them?
It actually became an issue no matter how politely asked for or if we didn't have the eggs ( then it's a waste) to avoid asking.
She was actually offended that I asked for an egg cup for myself and one for my son who has ataxia so it was harder to eat it and harder to keep the yolk from all over the hands and fingers and not drip all over. Then you are stuck asking for several more napkins!
Look to see if there are egg cups and if none, just don't have the eggs.
See how they eat them.
Generally, it is condidered uncouth to dip toast into the egg yoke, unless very young.
My mother would cut the toast into soldiers ;-). A spoon is used. Yes many cut off a bit of the top with a knife and then use a spoon like a coffee spoon which is smaller than a teaspoon, which can be too large.
Hilarious hearing all these rules as the knife is flashing around in the air lol.
Cutlery on the plate, saucer or in the hand.
Fork in the left hand except for salads and desserts. Some put the cutlery out to the side in between bites but they can be knocked off and onto the table or tablecloth.
We were taught to cross our knife and fork on the plate as a signal still eating. How many recognize that in a restaurant???I do that always and don't have any staff-if only 😉
Then when finished, the knife and fork are set side by side in the middle of the plate, tines at the top, to signal finished. That one thing we'd say finished, not done-mom would say that's for meat-the roast, stew is done or ready…haha. Typical in NA is to say "I'm done." Then I think of my mom or Hansel and Gretel. lol
Best is to enjoy what you eat, fancy setting or not.
My Thanksgiving napkins are paper, we have such good quality paper here, with a pike of raked leaves with Snoopy jumping in them!
Oops got to get up early enough to get the bird ready -it's Thanksgiving already ( Oct 13th thus year!) and I have to go back to sleep. It's just after 5:00a.m. 😊
Happy Thanksgiving everyone🎉🍁

I get my lady advice from a Real lady. The French first “lady” is a man. 👩🍳
OKAY–we be cool except for commercial jams sur la table!!!! Horrors.
but I see commercial jam jars sur la table—-horrors
hello
When, in the 16th century, Henry of Valois became the first elected king of Poland, it marked a clash between two very different cultures. The French monarch was surprised by many customs, as well as by the splendor of the Renaissance royal residence at Wawel Castle. He was particularly impressed by the toilets and sewage system – a concept virtually unknown in Western Europe at the time. Toilets and sewage – for Henry of Valois, coming from France, were an extraordinary novelty. Such solutions were not known in his homeland. Malicious tongues say that French courtiers relieved themselves in fireplaces, just as they did back home, because they didn’t know what the lavatories were for. It is a fact, however, that after fleeing Poland, Henry of Valois ordered sewage systems to be introduced at the French court as well.
True classiness comes from within. Heart centered with good thoughts, good words, good action. Some of her points are common sense, however French culture rules, will not rule my life!
Just wondering why the ringlets as a hair style? Is that going back to the 1800s?
In my view the late Queen Elizabeth II was the authority on etiquette. Her overriding concern was respect. She never drew attention to the odd faux pas or when people stumbled. Perhaps something the people here should try to emulate and embrace.
It would be nice if you choose other celebrities aside from Mrs.Trump as "x" and First Lady Macron as the "/"as comparison. Thank you.
