The French Approach to CHRISTMAS Decorating: What Makes French Christmas Decorating Unique?
Christmas decorating looks different everywhere, but the French approach stands out for its elegance, warmth, and tradition. Instead of oversized, trend-driven displays, French interiors bring a quieter kind of beauty: layered with antiques, heirlooms, natural greenery, and subtle color palettes that feel timeless. It’s a way of decorating that values history, detail, and atmosphere.
In this video, we explore how French interiors take on Christmas with thoughtful touches that make the season feel special. From the dining table styled as a centerpiece with candles and crystal, to ornaments chosen with meaning rather than excess, French Christmas decorating proves that less can be more—when it’s done with refinement and intention.
If you’re searching for Christmas decorating ideas, holiday inspiration, or design tips to bring elegance and warmth into your home, this video will help you learn what makes French Christmas interiors so different. Discover a festive style that is layered, inviting, and filled with lasting charm.

👍❤💐Thank you🙏
Beautiful 🎄🥰🥰 Thank you 🤲
Everything is bland, bland, bland. Bright pots of colour are what makes Christmas. This kind of decorating is done to match the bland decor and so many are doing this now. Colour doesn’t mean flashy. You can keep this boring look.
It is probably much prettier to be there and see this decor. I think it is definitely not over done.🎄
I like the decor.
you have some really nice center pieces, i like the ornaments with the sprigs of evergreen.
This style of decorating is not typical of all French homes , particularly at Christmas time. It maybe seen in properties in upmarket areas of Paris, some cities, the South or in a chateau, but definitely not in Brittany where I live. Christmas decorations here are rather understated and the festive meal is really more important! However, gradually over the last few years there have been more and more Christmas trees in the homes and trees are now being grown here in Brittany for the Christmas market.
The architecture and decor of homes in the many regions of France are all different and are really worth much more interest. It is a pity that so many Americans think that France is just Paris and Provence.
I love everything from start to finish!!! The French style furniture was a bonus to see!!! I’m searching for French provincial style accent furniture! Thanks for sharing ideas how to decorate for a traditional European holiday! 🫶🫶🫶
