For this one, the inspiration came from when I was rewatching my favorite show of all time, the gone but not forgotten, legendary soap “One Life to Live,” specifically the beautiful, iconic storyline of Tess and Nash in the time frame that they’d moved into a cottage in Napa with hopes of growing a vineyard. I wish we had gotten more time in that beautiful, magical cottage where time stood still.
Nash named his wine Espirit Libre, French for “free spirit”, to embody the wild, unpredictable nature of his lady and muse, Tess. He didn’t try to make her conform to what he wanted her to be. He didn’t love her despite her nature, but because of it. Don’t ever stop being a free spirit, and never dim your light for anything or anyone, so that someone who rejects it can take up the place your Nash is supposed to have.
