I think they are forgetting the broken state of the table when they got it and how much work Amaury did to make it usable. That would have greatly affected the price.
Bravo on the table! And the dress as well looks fabulous on Stephanie…and of course Marie’s food, ooooh Lala!
Why not do a swop with the dinning room chandelier .
Such a special chandelier .
Just a suggestion !!
Proudly use or display the glass you created. Maybe a vase on your bedside table. That chandelier is too beautiful to only be seen by the few who sleep in that room. I agree it should be in a room where everyone can enjoy it.
Just love that glass . Marie could make a wonderful arrangement in it ..
Stephanie you are looking radiant, love your hair today x
Our brown extendable table runs to just under three metres. It cost £11.00 from a charity shop in the South of England plus £74.00 transport to get it here in Peebles and a £15.00 donation to round us up to £100.00. It is all day long a £3,000.00 table. Not fashionable. But! Fits in here perfectly. Well done Philip! Love the chandelier. But! Our ceilings are 7' 3"😂😂😂. Regards, Stephen.
Refinish that table, it’s totally worth it.
Glass blowing is very challenging… perfect imperfection!!!!
My guess was $20K. What a shocking deal. I do love the table and the fact that you can seat so many wonderful people.
your dress is beautiful and looks wonderful on you stephanie – and i think you did a good job on your morano drinking glass too!! it looks really hard to blow glass so you did great really – its useable!
❤❤
What a fantastic find. When you have an eye, it can simply be innate or a learned by many years of experience. Well done, Philip!
Ugh, is clickbait really necessary?
What an incredible buy! I love Phillip's tables, they're always so beautiful and inspired.
What a Beautiful History the Table has 👌👍👏👏👏👏👏
I think that chandelier would be absolutely perfect in the dining room😂❤
What a great, feel-good discovery! 👌
Not to brag or anything… 😁😜 but when we moved to this place we bought a Ruscheweyh Tisch. When fully extended, it’s 5 meters and 30 cm’s. It has a mechanism so that you can push the blades inward, the outer legs then fold into the table as well and you can make the table as small as 150cm’s. I don’t know it’s worth, but we payed € 600,- for it, 17 years ago.
It’s from around the 1900’s, our farm is from 1905. What used to be the barn has been turned into a living space, 100 square meters, with a vide (is that English?) and open till the roof.
Too bad that it’s pretty costly to heat that space in winter, it has floor heating. But I use it every week on thursdays, when I teach arts in my Creative Café.
Since you’ve been in my life for 7 years now, I just want to mention that our beloved Dobermann Buddy has turned 13!! today. Who would’ve ever thought…?
Thank you so much for all the joy!! Much love from The Netherlands. 😘🫶😘
This is when math can be ignored. 18,000 < 400
Come to think that chandelier belongs in the Grand salon, it would be such a talkative piece, to beautiful to be hidden in the bedroom. Wow what extreme talent with that glass, beautiful job Stephanie I would use it as Flower vase. Much love from 🇨🇦🌹
Impressive that that table went from 180000€ to £450! Goodness me. Well done Philip for finding it and also for spotting the label so he was able to track the table to it's original price.
I remember seeing you in action blowing that glass, and I had wondered what happened to it? My mother went to Murano once and came home having blown to stunning champagne glasses! She was insanely talented, my mother was. I dabbled a teeny tiny bit with glass on a much smaller scale creating cocktail stirrers. That's how far my teacher allowed me to go a the time, in Denmark. Not Italy.
Oooh, how lovely you look in that dress Steph!
Your merano glass would be A GREAT SMALL VASE‼️
WTG Philip. Someone remind me– what's going on in the grand salon project please?
Nobody wants brown furniture sadly.
Every time they handle glass and porcelain, I get nervous that something is going to break.
It was so nice to hear you mentioned Kat. You will have to let her know that we miss her. Is there any update on how she's doing?
Your personal glass piece looks subliminal art nouveau. And your table will look wonderful after its lighter hue restoration. May you keep up the joy found in your journey.
Philip is the best, he has a great eye for the many treasures you've collected !
Philip's tablescapes are fantastic!
The dining table is functionally perfect and if you intend on keeping it for that reason, having it refinished NOW to enjoy for the rest of time! Yes, I would totally have it properly refinished to the perfect color that you can admire for the time that you all are living there!!! Absolutely, consider refinishing it for your own pleasure first, and future custodians of La Land. The glass factory was so interesting and the beautiful yellow glass you made could be a vase filled with delicate flowers all year. It's hand made by you, and a wonderful memory of an amazing experience 😘
Raven♥
Use the glass you made as a small vase.. 🌻
It's so interesting to see how much each person really adds to the chateau.
Sell the table for €18k again and buy a new one for €6k to replace 😆 make some money for restoring the chateau
Love the new chandelier ! Have you considered hanging it in the dining room and put the existing chandelier in the bedroom suite ? Just a thought ?
I totally get the dining room table thing . In 2023 I found a dining room table from the 17th century on Facebook marketplace for $100 , to find out later with some research that it had sold for $6000
30 years earlier. I guess its a bit of luck and honestly loving the piece .
Keep up the hunt for finds you love !
Gosh just sitting in my office working, and watching you delightful people realising I'm smiling so much. Thanks to you all for being who you are. God bless you all xoxo
18000 in 2001 is 33000 today with inflation!
In the right auction, you could get some nice cash, buy another table and some champagne
Stephanie! Will you let Philip finish a sentence!! 🤫🙄
The best of all was your dad’s positive attitude and it is following in your personality and your work 100%. 😘
Love to u all. So lovely to see this about your 20 years at Lalande xx
People today unfortunately (or fortunately depending how you look at it) no longer like antiques and Spode, Royal Dalton, Wedgewood, Portmeirion porcelain dinner services, silver/goldware cutlery sets. Today they buy mostly Ikea and the normal stainless steel cutlery sets. I myself prefer the antiques and Spode etc etc this is also why people are getting the antiques etc at a lesser price. Though do not forget Amuary did a lot of work on this dinning table when they brought it back to the chateau. You could use it as a vase and it is very pretty, you did a good job on it Stephanie.
Phillip, I love your dragonfly pin..
