I tried the best French restaurant in America: Le Bernardin, with 3 Michelin Stars it has regularly been named one of the best restaurants in the world. If you want to see bonus content, check out my membership space: https://bylucile.com/ I’ve already posted 5 videos there including the full unedited interview with Chef Ripert and the kitchen tour of Le Bernardin.

Let’s see what makes a three-star restaurant different from a one star or two Michelin-star restaurant, and if the experience is worth it. We will also get to visit the kitchen of le Bernardin and meet with Chef Eric Ripert.

Thank you so much to the whole team at Le Bernardin, in particular Chef Ripert for making this video possible and inviting us to lunch. Disclosure: this video is NOT sponsored by anyone, I was the one who wrote to Le Bernardin asking for access to make this video.

I've already posted 5 videos there, including the full unedited interview with Chef Ripert and the kitchen tour of Le Bernardin.
I'm grateful for each of you watching this, you're the reason why I'm able to get behind the scenes access, so a big thank you for being there 🙂

  2. The food looked amazing and now I'm starving! Another great video, Lucile. I have watch all of them and they are all well produced and researched. I always look forward to the latest release.

  3. What an amazing experience! And what an honor to meet Chef Ripert. It was incredibly gracious, and kind, of him to sit down for an interview. You're a very lucky girl!

  4. You don't think I might be able to convince them to stop serving wine, do you? Wine is not good for you. Also, tuna is from the Pacific ocean and we must not forget about Fukushima.

  5. Thank you for letting us share this experience with you. What an amazing place. I could see myself saving up for a couple of months to enjoy that meal!

  6. Good for you for asking for a behind the scenes visit! It’s amazing what happens when one dares to ask! Bravo Lucile! Salutations de Québec!

  7. Le Bernadin is truly an outstanding restaurant! You should also check out Le Pre Catelan, another 3 star Michelin restaurant which we loved ❤❤❤ – from the restaurant’s website: “LE RESTAURANT GASTRONOMIQUE

Au cœur du bois de Boulogne, le restaurant 3 étoiles au Guide MICHELIN, Le Pré Catelan incarne l'excellence de la gastronomie française.” I don’t work for the restaurant 😂, am just another person in this world who is truly (not ironically or sarcastically) amazed at how French food is perfection in food and so grateful the French people (like you) continue your longstanding dedication to perfection in food, art, and beauty.

  8. Can you get a video with Albert Sohm reviewing Wal-Mart wines? I think you would get a lot of views.

  9. So nice to see Eric Ripert in this video. From what I've seen of him from Anthony Bourdain videos, I consider him not only a superb chef and restauranteur, but also a very decent, proper, kind gentleman

  10. I can confirm this is one of the world’s greatest restaurants. It is worth every penny. Cheers to the masters Eric and Aldo! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

  11. I understand the 'trust the chef' point of view… but that's why, if I ever have the means to afford this kind of meal, I'll still be extra difficult in the choice of the restaurant, because I really am not into seafood at all (which takes the Bernardin off the list at once), and am also pretty hard to please on a number of other points, to the point that, after seeing a yt about eating at Guy Savoy, I took it out of the list also, as well as the Grand Véfour, because, although the latter had been my dream for decades, the current iteration has an executive chef whose vision does not agree with mine.

  12. I consider this as a full onslaught massaging experience to your taste buds, and will definitely try this restaurant the next time I'm in NY.

  13. So if one may ask, what NYC bank did you receive your Utra Swank, Fancy Dinner loan from? 😆

Btw this episode was very enjoyable. 😙

  14. I understand your thing about port (I'm a fan myself, but that's another story) … this is a story of how I was once invite to dine at the Montaigu Restaurant at the domaine de la Bretesche in Missillac (44). the cuisine was very nouvelle cuisine, but I was pleasantly surprised to find myself full at the end of the meal. I had taken the wine accords to go with my meal, because, my host let me, and the wine going with the dessert was a Pedro Ximénez, and extremely sweet varietal wine from the Jérez area in Spain. Given that my prior experieance with such wine was with overly sweet, very heavy, nearly cloying wine, I dreaded that last service… but praise be to the sommelier, what I drank was of course fairly sweet, but not overly so, and pleasantly light in the mouth… it seems fine dining restaurants have access to stuff we ordinary folk don't even know it exists.

  15. Not the foie gras right out the gate… 🙅🏻 They really said, eat this tortured animal organ first. That’s some bad karma right there.

  17. That was awesome! I live in New York (Westchester, not the city) and I've never been there but will certainly try it now. The chef was a charming fellow and the meal, and the wine! looked wonderful.

  18. What an incredible dining experience. Once we can start visiting America again we'll definitely try and get a table at Le Bernardin. Better start saving my pennies – and pounds – now!

  19. It's not "the best" it's just expensive and pretentious. Your point about good restaurants being surprisingly affordable… in France …is the most important part of this video.
