Fred’s finally taken me to somewhere I love – BORDEAUX! And it’s a bloody belter of a place. Some of my favourite wines call this place home, and we’re taking a tour around it.

Fred’s behind the wheel, and we’ve abducted my ultimate French wine nerd, and good mate, Gavin Quinney along for the ride (and to translate the road signs).

Hope you enjoy, and if you learn anything at all, it’s that Bordeaux IS the bloody b*llcks ….. wines below …

Chateau Tronquoy-Lalande 2015, Saint Estephe

Pichon Comtesse Reserve 2019, Pauillac

Chateau Gloria 2018, Saint Julien

Baron de Brane 2018, Margaux

  1. Hi Tom great video, I’m about to have my first child and we want to get a really nice bottle of champagne/ sparkling wine what would you recommend? One of our favourites has always been camel valley rose

  2. I've never seen Tom so giddy with excitement! 🤣 Absolutely brilliant video! We must have more of the longer videos in the future. Very educational and has now got me exploring wines I wasn't really aware of. Thank you!

  3. Superb in this longer format, really informative. I love learning more about wine and this definitely works for me 😊😊

  4. Absolutely bloody cracking video. Really really enjoyed every second. The attitude of “enough of your shite Bordeaux nerd, I want to consume alcoholic grapes” had me chuckling. Please please please (no Sabrina carpenter reference intended) do more 🎉

  5. I really enjoyed Oz & James Big Wine Adventure series in France and thought that was the ultimate wine tasting TV, but now i’ve watched this, it’s confirmed I was right all along 😉

  6. We moved from the UK to SW France in 2019. Out place has a little Vinyard of Medoc grapes but I may replace some with CabSauv at some point, to get a more appealing (to me) blend.
We have a Camping Car and this has inspired me to revisit that area. We are really spoiled for good wine around here. My favourite Bang-for-the -buck locally is "St Innocence" near a place called Fonroque, south of Bergerac. About 10 minutes from us.
I had a bottle in a local restaurant and the first sip stopped me in my tracks. It was a nice surprise to discover it was from 10 km away (PS. It's between 6-10 Euros a bottle !!!!)

  7. Chateau Margaux is the correct answer. One day I may even own some. In the meantime Giscours isn’t too shabby at all.

  8. so much fun to watch from the safety of.the house lol so old and complex with meny open spaces lol
the bit with the cars of the workers traveling home for lunch . was stranrgey magical

  9. "I think we've been slightly influenced by looking at a lot of gravel"
Just having the insight that it might be bollocks makes it so much more enjoyable to watch!

  10. I felt a bit uncomfortable with the way you talked to your friend. He might ‘get’ your humour but what’s the point of inviting someone more knowledgeable about the subject, then calling him names, saying his information is ‘boring’ and you “dgaf”?
Alcohol is illegal for teenagers, why then behave like one who is forced to attend school for 8 hours a day?
I actually found the information interesting and I definitely learned new things, what is wrong with geeking out on subjects you are passionate about and appreciate people who have advanced further on that path?

  11. Go to Majestic Plymouth and ask for Carlito, the portuguese guy and he will give you a great experience in wine tasting😂

  12. This video is totally like a bordeaux wine. You think that it's hard to watch/drink, but when you start, you can't stop 😅
