When it comes to Michelin star restaurants in NYC, there is no shortage of options! NYC Michelin restaurants are numerous. I’m not saying every block or neighborhood has one but NYC may be the most represented city by Michelin Guide in the world. Well either NYC or Paris, or maybe Tokyo. However, there are notably many 3 Michelin star restaurants in NYC. They are Le Bernardin, Per Se, Masa, Eleven Madison Park, and now Jungsik.
Each of those restaurants is wildly praised. Le Bernardin and Eleven Madison Park were considered the best restaurants in the world not long ago. Per Se has claim to best restaurant in the world as it is similar to French Laundry. And Masa is the most expensive Japanese restaurant in the world, and therefore arguably the best in the world. We will see what legacy Jungsik builds.
Is Michelin star food worth it though? Are 3 Michelin star restaurants worth it or are they overrated hype? Is Michelin overrated or is Michelin just some pretentious thing? We’ll find out together!

Don't forget about SF, we punch way above our population size, NYC is almost 10 times our size but we have the same amount of 3 Michelin star restaurants with five and we have nine 2 star restaurants, compare to NYC's 13. Our fruits and produce are the best in the US and that's why we get some of the best chefs in the world over here. I love NYC and think the design of the restaurants there are better designed than in SF! A 3 Michelin star meal is about having the best produce, fruits, meats, fish and whatever else they have, along with knowledge of the waitstaff and the service is generally far beyond your normal restaurants. There is so much money put into those places and the running costs are so high, that's why they cost a lot. I love going out to a great restaurant where people actually care about food and not taking photos for the 'gram.
Great reviews…still think about your review of Gordon Ramsays regularly…need to drop in sometime.
I'm sorry but personally you shouldn't do "3 Star" restaurants because you really complain too much . Stick to pizza, Steaks etc.. maybe some Mexican spots, Indian… Seems more your speed
I love your videos but let’s be honest. I feel like pizza and steak houses are your lane not Michelin star restaurants. You can’t just judge them on a cost value analysis that’s ignoring a huge part of their offerings which is the ambiance and experience.
when it comes to Michelin restaurants, the Michelin 'Recommended', 'Bib Gourmand', and 'Michelin Plate' are going to be your best bang for the buck. You pay for stars like others have said. Mainly for service and setting.
ua got a cold probably bc of the airplane travel-in canada we call that the airplane flu-the airlines say the air that circulates they clen with hepa filers-dont think so.
the most boring episode that you have ever done in my opinion.
you have to go back to 11 Madison, they're are serving meat again, which they did for years. I'm vegan now but I went to 11 Madison before they were vegan.
When UA is eating something he is really enjoying he makes a face like somebody would perform a colonoscopy without anesthesia on him.
Getting recognized in Italy is insane. This is a really great channel. God bless you for your work and efforts.
Good video. I'd love to see this type of video on the steakhouses you've dined at. Also Italian.
Your Masa doesn’t count…
Honestly… you should not review top notch fine dining restaurants if you don’t know what your talking about. For the meats you are ok. Stick to that..
Pretty sure you won’t read this UA but would love to know your absolute favorite steak in NYC. My wife and I are coming to NYC next weekend and would love to know your fav
I enjoy this channel. But I wonder how he is paying for all of these trips and meals. Any background on UA's career ?
I'd rather have a good pizza vs all those high end restaurants.
Another money grabber episode. Yawn…
I honestly don't give two f** whether a restaurant has Michelin star (sidenote: Michelin started as car and tire guide, now I'm trusting them to rate the deliciousness of food??). You are paying a hefty price just for their art, service and rent. Just give me a good 'ole mom and pop restaurant any day.
You're paying for experience and exclusivity, really. Rich people want to be able to go out and eat without mingling with us poors.
Standing in the middle of street recording the video because others are doing it. When in Rome… literally
Never understand the hype behind Korean food. Basically Chinese cuisine ingredients with better publicity.
Once you have asian you don't want want go back back Caucasian 😂❤😂😂😂❤😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello UA , i was reaching out to you to see if we can collaborate i would like to market my brand with you , coffee brand.
Who gives a crap?
You believe in the capture and torture of octopus 🐙 and or squid, highly intelligent sea creatures [ some scientific evidence that they might be aliens]
BTW,
Any video, including a vehicular accident would be welcome by you as long ass your face got in it and itt went viral 😮
And you come from money.
So stop the nonsense foodie with money 😐🤔😒
Love it……The iconic bite reaction……. Takes a bite….."Hmmmmmmmmm………Shakes head yes……..Hmmmmmmmmm"
My wife and I have stumbled across AU and we somehow spent the better part of last week binge watching. Perfect food reviews and such a likeable personality, with a few dad jokes thrown in. Love it, and could watch all day. Hey AU, Id love to see you try something like fly to Texas and try Goldies BBQ or other world renown BBQ places. After getting to know what you like, if love yo see you try something new like smoked beef ribs. If you love a tender Ribeye steak, I dont know how you couldn't love a perfectly cooked BBQ beet rib. Please try. We will be watching either way.
The strawberries and cream for dessert is such a disappointing cop out!
It’s a shame you have the palate of a rock
how do we know she works for mesa
Translation; chef created a menu with sub-par ingredients for middle class and poor people.
Must review the Nordic in Charleston RI. Looks fun and the food looks amazing.
