Château Pontet-Canet is a winery located in the Pauillac, on the left bank of the Bordeaux wine region of France. It was ranked as a fifth growth (cinquieme grand cru classé) in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification.
The property has been owned by the Tesseron family (famous Cognac brand and producer) since 1975, and its reputation has risen greatly since, along with auction prices and popularitythanks in part to viticulture being certified organic and biodynamic there.
Pontet Canet is made from the typical Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, (62% of plantings), Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
