Two incredible actors, used to tackling huge roles, now face perhaps their toughest challenge yet: our Fast Food Quiz. Dish Season 8 is finally here, and we’re kicking things off with acting icons Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman!

Nick and Angela welcome the pair, who star together in The Roses — a fresh reimagining of the 1989 film War of the Roses, playing a gloriously dysfunctional married couple. It’s available to watch in cinemas now.

It’s food and drinks galore at Dish HQ! We begin with pretzels, gin and tonics and a modified Hugo Spritz for Olivia, before serving a glass of Terre di Vita Organic Zibibbo Sicilia with roast spatchcock chicken, spiced with coriander, red chilli and charred limes. Angela adds french fries on the side and sprouting broccoli, sautéed with soy sauce, sesame oil and salt.

Across the episode, we get the full picture of their special friendship, with Benedict and Olivia spilling the details: what happens when you eat too many lentils on set, dressing up as Chewbacca for Halloween, and how their on-screen partnership finally came together. We also get Benedict’s incredible list of food likes and dislikes, hear about his unexpected stint as a sous chef, and discover just how much Olivia loves EVERY Sunday roast. It’s good to be back.

We can’t all have a Michelin star chef in the kitchen, but you can ask Angela for help. Send your dilemmas to dish@waitrose.co.uk and she’ll try to answer in a future episode.

  1. Now after watching the show with Benedict and Olivia I cant' stop repeating 'Spatchcock' when you say it. Damm you Benedict ! 🧐

  2. Looks delicious 😋! Thanks for this amazing recipe, we will definitely be trying this one out as a family ❤

  3. Josh Weissman did a video recently talking about how food programs are not what they used to be and they are no longer engaging, you guys have figured out a way to turn a food program into something that is both educaitonal and entertaining. Great job to whoever came up with this idea.

  4. Why are they always cooking for well off celebs like this pair who could afford to eat anywhere they want, better cooking for those less fortunate

  5. Benedict cumberbatch has been a vegan since 2017.. Didn't anybody check that before feeding him chicken

  6. I was looking forward to this recipe since the previews came out but will have to omit the coriander.
    I’ll still try it tho.

  7. Awww, the Parsons nose! Reminds me of my great grandmother, the youngest of 8 kids, said she only ever got the Parsons nose when they had chicken. I was obviously confused and slightly terrified, so I asked her what that was, "the part that went over the fence last"😂

  8. I wish my phone would 3D print out this meal so I could eat it now lol, it looks so delicious and Italianesque, all those flavours and herbs.

  9. With all due respect, replace the sunflower oil with something that isn't poison, like olive oil, then you've got a good recipe. Seed oils are basically poison to your body.

  10. ange knew the crew would laugh and still called them juveniles 😂 oh i love the fun times they have on set, they’ve really formed a close bond!!

  11. She’s a Michelin star chef but she fails to realise that spreading marinade on top of skin does nothing to the meat under the skin. For a truly marinated chicken, stab it all over and spread the marinade under the skin and any leftover marinade you can put on top of the skin. Try that chicken!

  12. Be aware Waitrose is selling you halal slaughtered meat. It's absolutely appalling there are no symbols on front of the packs to warn me what I'm buying.
