Journey to the Château, Ep. 332 – In this episode, Patrick and Stuart are back to work in the chateau with the continued renovation of the side kitchen. Patrick begins the repairs to fill a large hole in the plaster and stone wall. Patrick and Stuart then clean, grout, and finish the stone tile floor and discuss the future plans for the side kitchen. They also meet up with friends Tony, Jane, Richard, and Eve to go to a large annual brocante market in the French city of Saint-Amand-Montrond.

  1. Hello gentlemen! Out of curiosity, I have a silly question, someone who has renovated houses in USA and Europe, which one do you find more difficult? I am from Poland but moved to Canada as a young teenager. Now as a grown woman who has renovated 2 houses and build one, I have to say North America construction seems easier. Maybe not as durable, but easier. Just wanted to hear your side. Great video as always

  2. Great “stuff” for filling the whole in the wall. We have had large holes to fill too and we have used scrunched up newspaper. Works like a charm. This room is going to look so nice when completed. What a difference with the grout. I’m a huge fan of the colours you have chosen. Can’t beat Wedgwood blue!! Nice brocante and beautiful day for shopping

  3. Thank you for occasionally including the floorplans of both levels. They really help to understand how the chateau functions and where you are working. I wish Stephanie would do the same at Cheateu de Lalande.

  4. Well the side kitchen is gonna look great when you get done guys. I didn’t realize you’re going to bring the blue in there from the dining room. What a great idea. It’ll just flow so well I’m excited to see what you come up with here.

  5. I really like the opening shots of the chateau and the music is tip top. Great job Stuart. The music thru the brocante and countryside really sets a stage. Nice getting the side kitchen worked on as I know that was on your bucket list. ❤❤❤

  6. Again, you never let me down with your vlogs….the music, the dogs, the work being done that looks great. Than the drive through the beautiful countryside with cattle grazing and to end up in a lovely brocante together with special friends! The perfect day!

  7. Hi there. I have a question…was the music in the opening scenes of the vlog the same music used in the Downton Abbey series? I really enjoyed that show and loved the music!

  8. I so enjoy your interaction with some of your loves! The new project would be my dream to have a butlers pantry. Stuart…aces on the music!

  9. The flooring in the side kitchen is beautiful and looks to be original. I like your plans for the room. The brocante had hidden treasures, which is they are great fun. Take care my friends, Ralph Rocchiccioli

  10. Totally agree to bring panelling up to window then skirting.. repair went well. The floor looks so much better 🙃 Hello babies 😂.. ok what did you get, show and tell 😅😊

  11. Love your stone floor 😻 You must be pleased! Your dogs are so adorable too 😻 They would make a great subject for a large traditional portrait.

  12. I had forgotten that you had not yet completed that back kitchen room. It will be lovely matching the dinning room, and appear an extension of that room into the kitchen. Nothing at the brocanting caught my interest this time. Ronnie in Saskatchewan
