Alsace Wine Route Highlights
We explored Andlau, a 9th-century wine village, followed by Itterswiller with its half-timbered houses and vineyard views.
Kaysersberg, voted France’s favorite village in 2017, charmed us with its colourful streets and castle ruins. We even crossed into Germany for coffee and cake.
At Cromary camping Esplanade, friendly owners, clean facilities, and a shallow river made for a relaxing stay.
Besançon & Fondremand
After shopping in Besançon, we visited Fondremand, with its 12th-century castle, old wash house, and a restored mill—a delightful 10/10 find.
