It has been four years since the last outbuildings tour! So It is time to take you on a refresher tour of the many barns and outbuildings we have on the property… with some holding the houses historical treasures in a remarkable condition – you may be amazed at what is tucked away!
There are still so many possibilities for these buildings and if you have any good ideas, we would love to hear them! Feel free to comment below.
And after reading all last week’s comments we announce the names of the Maison de Maîtres suites.
A big thanks again to @notquiteachateaudiy for helping with key manufacture.
We conclude of course with a fitting drink tribute to the property – Cheers!

The rooms are beautiful and uncluttered. 🇦🇺🦘good luck with your B and B.
On seeing all the shears & pruners…with the assumption that they do not have significant resell value…they would look terrific if welded/soldered into a statue for the pool area…maybe in the form of a "shear" flower and leaves. Designing & creating it would be a fun project.
My goodness your property has massive spaces 😊❤
I spray 50/50 vinegar/water on moldy pieces. As a general rule, one time fixes it. If the piece has lots of crevices, spray & brush through the crevices. Wripe it down with clean water & allow it to dry. One good trick to know. It you worry about the mold coming back or the odor from storage still seems to hang on, remove the finish (sanding, scraping, or remover), leave the stain or remove it, sand the piece, put a coat of wax-free shellac on it. The shellac seals the piece and prepares the surface for however you want to finish the piece…stain or paint. And most importantly…move those pieces out of the room today! If you put them in a room with a demidifier, they mold may die on its own, but you still need to take mold removal steps.
Your place just screams potential, potential, potential! I'm just an ignorant American, and there is probably a good explanation, but why in the world would they abandon all that usable space upstairs and put insulation on the floors for crying out loud? Surely it's not impossible to install it in the ceilings and roof rafters? Is it too expensive? I've seen this done in other French properties on Youtube.
I think the
“Pharmacie” sign is ironic and that cupboard was the liquor cabinet – full of free cognac. A bit of a cure-all 😉
THANK YOU. ❤
Thanks for the tour. I didn't know you had chickens.
I think you should put doorways into those old wine vats.. put a skylight in the upper hatches .make it into a jewel of a sleeping pods for tourists who would love to sleep in a wine vat lol. Make one into a bathroom joined by a new door on the side of a vat joining them..the distillery room can be lounge for the guests with the old equipment as decorations etc.. rich red velvet high backed chairs and tables for tasting wine
You could turn the tanks into rooms and rent out
who wouldn’t want to stay in tanks
cut out windows and make 2 or 3 into one accommodation
Oh a Cognac Tasting Room sounds good…… you have a ton of work to do I know but in the future it would be lovely for your visitors !
I would level all the outbuildings and turn all of the property into a beautiful lawn for you and your guest to enjoy.❤❤
A plunge pool … 😂😂.. plenty of spaces to turn in to family gites, gardens cafe, etc First thing id be doing would be scrapping all metal..copper and brass bringing reasonable money to put back into property. Barrels could be used for tables, reuse as much as you can… use money from scrap to hire someone to clean out. So much to sell to resellers
Maybe some area you can make into a little studios/workshops for artist/artisans who have no place to work?😊
Thank you so much for sharing all this Claire. All your blogs are so good to watch and so interesting. You two make me laugh with your comments etc.
Thank you for showing more of your property, it's really interesting xx
Hello, when I saw the wine tanks, I thought you could open the tanks and put tables in them and have a small exclusive restaurant with wine tasting classes or just wine tasting. Just a thought.
Great minds think alike. Also, open the tanks and have art painting nights.
Or, wine and cheese pairing.
Your gite looks lovely! I have added it to my “one-day-when-I’m-in-France” travel list.
One piece of advice about your filming: when filming yourself in the front camera, look at the camera, not your own face… it makes it like you are constantly looking away 😅
The area with wiine tanks should be keep intact, it´ s such a big part of your properties history and culture. Cleaned up it would be a great place for winetasting. Also the cognac destillery would be a lovely place for cognac tasting. Imagine all the copper cleaned and polished , would be fantastic.
Gosh it’s huge! No pun intended 😂 You can’t get the scope of the place until you do these vlogs. Love all the names for the rooms ❤
I've watched the two of you work so hard over the years and never with a complaint. I admire your sense of humor and lack of entitlement, thank you for sharing.
Are u going to be going to put air & heat con in all ur rooms or have the entire Chateau fitted with heat & cooling methods?? Some I've seen with a wood boiler or wood pellet heater in basement The Pethricks use a wood heating stove he fills 1x a day in basement and ducting fitted to rooms then in his Convent he has the Aircons in the rooms but I know u can get them bigger than just 1 room..Also I've seen alot of places are putting in solar to help with heating and cooling cost even if it's fitted with radiators in winter air con in summer…There are lots of ways to go…there is a channel dreaming of a Chateau just raised 30,000 just to refinish the stone floors in there Chateau u could raise money for solar or parnter with a company alot of people contact the company and see if they want to partner with u…Some start a membership or patreon 😊
Could it be a dove coat area instead of pigeons?
Great tour ,😊 💫
