  6. when I went to new Orleans we went to a cafe that had these. it was a thousand degrees out and humid af. then The cafe was outside too. They gave us water that was a babies portion, they didn't even give us enough water. it was awful, and I was dehydrated. the bignits were good though. but I can't understand why they would give us the little amount of water that they did.

  7. I made this recipe, it comes out amazing anytime. I've eaten Beignets in New Orleans many times, and this ones in this recipe are just as amazing as the Big Easy.

  8. Thank you so much for posting this. I have always wanted to try beignets and to make them at home. I'm curious here, is the shortening made from pork? I don't eat pork. Can I use vegetable shortening instead? I live in Australia so the only vegetable shortening brand that I know of is Copha.
