I definitely didn't know how to do stuff like that at age 13, and I still don't at age 40. I would've loved to have seen a few of the adults compete against the kids at that time. I think the adults might get a bit intimidated.
Good now make 3000 of them. A day. Then go in at 2am the following morning After getting home at 4-5pm the night before. That’s where the real challenge lies. I was a pastry chef for 10 years and it is tough. People think “oh you go in early and leave early right?!” Very wrong. I realized fairly early on that baking at high volume was not for me so I stick to home baking. I hope this kid follows his passion because nailing macaron is not easy!

Gordon has the biggest heart when it comes to people that love to cook as much as he does. Such a tough gentleman.
Macaroons are NOT hard to make ! Nothing sophisticated once you know the process.
