This is the Old Fashioned Butterroll that we ate back in the day. When you read the recipe yes there is a lot of butter(remember it is called Butterroll for a reason) and sugar. This dessert is so sweet it will make your teeth shrivel up. ENJOY.
Ingredients:
2 -9-Inch Pie Crusts, Ready to Bake, 15 oz, 2 Count
1 stick (1/2c.) – butter(softened)
1/4 c. sugar
Sauce:
1 stick(1/2c) butter
2c. milk
1c. sugar
1 can 14 oz. sweet condensed milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
To make the sauce: in a pot add the butter, sugar and vanilla whisking them together. Next add the can of condensed milk, stir. Add the 2 cups of milk and simmer for 5 minutes. Set aside.
Roll out your pie crust to thin them out. Spread the softened butter to cover the dough completely. Now sprinkle your sugar and cover completely. Roll the dough and place in your baking dish. Pour your sauce to cover and bake at 400 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
