Straight fact no bullshit but my mother can really cook well because she wanted get into industry but unfortunately she sacrificed that for taking care of us
I grew up on Hamburger Helper, McCormick taco night, and Stouffer's lasagna but also on some good homemade chicken enchiladas, good Southern meals like chicken fried steak, etc. too. Parents have their fun cooking nights and their "just get some food on the table" nights, too. It is what it is.
My mom boiled chicken doused it in McCormick garlic salt and a vegetable oil, put it on boxed spaghetti and called it "greek style spaghetti". Sir you vastly over estimate how trashy americans can get.
We wasn't posh enough to have chicken chasseur. More like Finders crispy chicken pancakes and maybe a KFC or Chicken roast on a Sunday. Nothing so fancy.
Think mum uses the Schwartz packet version, it wasn't the worst but am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn fresh cooking since then. This looks like an even better take on the recipe, looking forward to giving it a try!
The problem is that the demi glace is the most important ingredient, and to make it, you need to spend hours in the kitchen. We normal people just haven't always got a pot simmering at hand.

My mother’s was more like a pot stew but with boiled chicken yet it still was fucking fantastic.
My mum made it in a bag…
How dare you talk about my ma like that. She made the best Bernard Mathew turkey drumsticks with chips and peas.
Na she did a pretty good lasagne. I was a right fussy prick of a child.
"I feel like chicken tonight, chicken tonight!"
Bro my mom orders chicken tenders at a wedding. I've been flying blind my entire career by watching MPW videos lol

Probably the best 2 youtuber chefs, not to mention that they actually runs a great restaurant.
My mum never made a terrible version of anything. She had a job, she cooked and cared for everyone. The only terrible thing here is you.
It may be a shame for chef who learned in french cuisine, but this dish is still one of my fav. french chicken dishes till this very day. Delicious
