Whilst staying in Amboise I thought I’d try my hand at a bit of French style cooking.

I started with a visit to the local market, a fabulous place located alongside the Loire river. After subjecting the poor local stall holders to my appalling French I scored a few ingredients and headed back to my accommodation for a cook up.

Naturally, being a French dining experience I had to dress up in my finest leather pants and white top for the occasion.

The result really wasn’t too bad. Join me for a light hearted attempt a French cuisine x

    Your French skills are as good as mine. I remember bonjour and how to count to 4, that's about it 🙂

    How many bottles of wine did you buy and how much did you drink before cooking the food? I hope you weren't riding anywhere after lunch because you we swaying a bit during the cooking part. 🙂

    Most people that cook eggplant peel it and cut it into slices about 1cm thick and soak those in water. Soaking the whole thing with the peel doesn't do anything, although it was amusing watching water go everywhere when you tried to drown it 🙂

  2. Very nice! Healthy and fresh! I was a bit worried about red wine and the white top but saw you didn't spill a drop. Good tomato tip, but I didn't know about the egg plant in water! (I couldn't spell aubergine!)

  11. Impressed at how purple the wine was. I'm not a regular drinker but I've enjoyed some refreshing brown ale over this hot spell. Hopefully I don't upset Gordies but I chill the ale in the fridge
