France, Italy and Switzerland all gather around the resort area called Chamonix Mont Blanc. The village Chamonix is where ski fans come and have fun in style.
First, you go to Chamonix for the scenery. It’s breathtaking to see the French Alps from any place in the town. You’re already high up, at 1000m altitude in Chamonix, and you’re looking at Mont Blanc, which is over 4800m! One of the highest in Europe.
I would go back anytime there, for the relaxing feeling it gives you. The air is nice and fresh, the houses are from wood or painted in cheerful colors, and at night you can see lots of stars, while you drink some wine on the balcony. In the morning you wake up to the fog resting on the top of Mont Blanc and the smell of coffee.
Special tip: you’ll want to visit Mer de Glace, but first make sure the train goes there in that period of the year. When I was in October, it was on hold.
