1. Whisk together the batter: 3 egg yolks, 3 cups buttermilk, 1 scraped vanilla bean, 6 Tbsp sugar, splash of dark rum (optional).
2. Cut some crusty baguettes in half lengthwise and soak in the batter until moist (can be up to an hour depending on how crunchy your bread is). A Le Creuset Heritage Rectangular Casserole works great for this!
3. Melt butter in a Toughened Nonstick PRO Fry Pan, then add the soaked baguettes and cook, turning the bread until crispy on both sides.
4. Top with more butter, sprinkle with sugar, and serve!
