Pinhal again? Yes please, it’s tasting epic!

I’ve been spending a bunch more time at home over the past couple of weeks to assist with our new baby boy, Inès and looking after Katie. During this time, Pinhal has been my coffee of choice. Brewed simply. Using a cafetiere, Wilfa Svart grinder and good water (Volvic). It’s delightful. Balanced – character, acidity, body and so expressive as a full immersion brew.

What you’ll first note is prevalent cherry like acidity. There’s so much red and purple stone fruits going on in this. Then you get that really lovely treacle and liquorish characteristic as well. It’s very sweet and really sticky on your palate. And of course, because this is a coffee from Brazil, you get a lovely chocolate finish as well. It’s somewhere in the range of 35 to 45% cocoa mass so, milk chocolate to dark milk.

Have a great week.
