What is Marcillac wine? Well, Marcillac is one of the smallest wine appellations located in the southwest of France. Wines labelled as Marcillac must contain at least 90% of Fer Servadou grape varieties. However, the vast majority of Marcillac wines are pure Fer Servadou. 90% of Marcillac wines are red, and 10% of the production is represented by Rose wine.
To be more precise, Marcillac wine is produced in the Marcillac-Vallon area of the Aveyron region in France.
My favourite Marcillac producers are Vignerons du Vallon, Domaine du Cros lo sang del Pais and Domaine Laurens.
