This was hard to watch, I hate vegans and I hate the French so them arguing is hard for me to say who is right but I think vegans are more problematic so as much as it pains me to do this, I’m siding with the French on this one
I think the main point of this is like, imagine you make a cup of tea, out of coffee beans, thats not tea thats a coffee. So in this case it isnt bacon, its a plant based bacon alternative. Its like calling sweeteners sugar. Yes they have the same purpose, but they arent the same.
I think this has been a thing everywhere. Thats why butter alternatives say oil based spread or ice creams with lower fat percentage is called frozen dessert. We also have the chocolate-like or cheese-like adjectives because of that
