Her shows take me back to elementary school! I adored her then and now!!
WOW!! Both of those dishes look absolutely FANTASTIC!
Probably the earliest known use of a microwave on tv. I love how Julia happily uses modern technology over the years.
Have you noticed when she puts the potato in the microwave at the left we see a hidden part of the set. It's a shelf of some sort just like you see in the dining room or other parts of the kitchen. I would have expected to see more of the studio.
Such a hoot 🦉. Her ebullient discourse makes me break into a grin.
She is great, but what a disgusting brunch.
God Bless your heart for keeping Julia Childs Memorys and good home cooking on YouTube, time just goes by way too fast.
I love these shows, especially the mismatched pots and pans.
I want a big glass of Wine 🍷 she makes me thirsty fot sweet grape 🍇 Wine & Cheese 🧀 with Grapes 🍇 🍞 🍷
That big plank of fish looks like the fish from Babette's Feast.
The mixer is ancient, but “state of the art” for the times! And the microwave too! Brunch !
Ole girl is selling that shirty dish. And fish. Gross. and one must decide if she really did use this recipe to repel an unexpected dinner party.
Food flying and spilling everywhere in this one!
Here in Baltimore we have the coddie, which is a deep-fried cake of salt cod and mashed potatoes, served with saltines and French's mustard. I was reluctant to try them but I ended up loving them. I'll try these dishes in a heartbeat! Next week she's doing a walnut cake.
French cuisine trivia: "Lyonnaise" almost always means browned onions. Apparently in Lyon they do browned onions with just about everything! And salt cod is very commonly used in the south of France and in Italy; Scandinavian ships would trade salt cod for fresh fruit and veggies, and so the folks there learned different ways to use them.
Julia sharing her love of food with her viewers.
cracks me up every time she looks up stops talking to make sure the camera is still working.
Bacalhau 🇵🇹
I'd love it if there was a brunch club around me. No one I know or in my family does brunches. Closest thing we had was my grandmother used to make a dish of food and whomever wanted to stop in could eat and keep in touch with other family members that did the same.
Not American, so I discovered Julia Child through Meryl Streep's impersonation. The real thing, though, is fantastic! No wonder she was such an icon. What a fantastic woman.
