We did it. We bought a crumbling 200-year-old farmhouse in rural France… and we have absolutely no idea what we’re doing.
This is the story of two Brits leaving behind their old lives (and steady jobs!) to renovate a forgotten French farmhouse — with zero experience, a lot of ambition, and plenty of wine 🍷.
🎥 In this first episode:
→ How we found the house
→ The official viewing (and panic)
→ Making the BIG decision
→ Buying a caravan while waiting for the keys
→ Oh… and who are we anyway?

I’m a 70 year old gay man and I bought my first house 3 years ago. A 1960s house in country Victoria Australia.
I am so looking forward to watching your progress
Is there a reason behind the random jumble of words you have used for the title of these videos, or is it simply that you are too thick to speak french?
Need a pool, and hot tub
Excited to follow along with your future renovation videos.
Can totally relate! I was ready to purchase a maison de maitre in France last year… At the end I bought a lovely 1920s house downtown Athens-Greece whereI reside and work. Old houses have a soul and I try to maintain the buldge of its original features. Your house has great potential, plus family in the corner to help and boost you in the difficulties! Love the original fireplaces, doors etc, you have an antique bonus I see! Can't wait to see the renovation process.
Loved watching this guys! Excited to see the next update
Looking forward to the renovation !

Why not do French lessons for English speakers moving to France and needing to learn French ?
The time will fly by . Bought our place 6 years ago in Lower Normandy . We only retired 4 weeks ago (Early retirement) , currently moving all our stuff over in several trips 🙂
Can't wait to see the renovations!
New subscriber waiting now to see you turn it around. Best wishes to you both.
Charming couple! WGM here in New Mexico USA, I really liked your editing skills, quick pace, work put into it, humor or humour as you say…suggest you reach out to Stephanie Jarvis of Chateau Diaries, be good to associate with someone also from England, restoring her chateau. One of her secrets to entertaining videos, is the constant flow of people in and out of chateau, suggest you get all your friends and family on camera they become characters in the play of your life (on camera ). Am excited to see your next one.
The one with the glasses is punching above his weight. Dark haired guy Ben seems to have a hidden charm and cuteness. 😂❤
You have a bought a palace, peace and a future. Good luck!
Best of luck to you!

So Cool!! I look forward to your journey into experiences!! Bonne Chance!! (Canada)
I love it already!! It has stunning potential. I love the symmetry of the facade. I have just finished a smaller project. Four years of sleepless nights!! But it was worth it. Find yourself a fantastic architect. Hang in there, it is so worth it. Best wishes❤❤❤
Good luck guys, lots of potential there, have done a couple of houses,is hard to live in them while ur remodeling, I shouldn't have done that, made me sick, lol
Amazing house can’t wait to see what you do with it. Watching from Australia 🇦🇺
Amazing 💙
Just found you guys. Excited to watch.
is glasses the taker ?
Hey! Great project – certainly no shortage of hard work haha! But a lovely looking facade on the house, and plenty of potential to redesign the interior to suit your purposes. One way of looking at it is that having to reinstall all electrics and plumbing gives you carte blanche (within reason!) to move walls around and reconfigure the space.
Un grand bonjour charmants messieurs! Votre projet est emballant, je me suis abonné et je je me ferai un plaisir de suivre vos aventures de rénovation. De la part d’un Québécois.
