Would you eat French toast as a casserole? 🍞🔥

• Stale bread hack: If your bread isn’t stale, bake at 350°F for 10 min.

• Prep: Cut into 1″ cubes; pack into a 13×9″ pan.

• Custard: Whisk 6 eggs + 2 cups whole milk + ¼ cup brown sugar + 1½ tsp vanilla extract + 1 tsp ground cinnamon + 1 tsp kosher salt. Pour over bread.

• Topping: Melt 4 Tbsp butter + stir in ½ cup brown sugar + ½ tsp cinnamon + pinch of salt; sprinkle on top.

• Bake: 400°F for 30 min until golden.

• Finish: Dust with powdered sugar & drizzle syrup (or your fave garnish).

Serve warm. Brunch just got way easier and infinitely more delicious. Save this for your next weekend feast!

  1. That looks really good, but it is most certainly not easier than making French toast the regular way. Plus it's not really French toast. I've got quibbles… still looks good though.

  2. I didn’t violently throw the ingredients into my bowl so it all turned into porridge. Do not try if you’re not willing to commit! 😂

  3. Yeah, no it's not. It's gonna take 1 to 12 hours to make. I can get a whole loaf done in about 15 minutes the regular way. No need to be so damn extra about it.

    In my day we called that bread pudding, but hey….
    If people can identify as an asexual stapler, then I guess we can call that bread pudding, French toast casserole. 😆
