But it wasn’t a full tour 😢
Beautiful! Who cleans it all ?
Anna, you and Philip can be so proud of yourselves. You have both done a fabulous job on renovating your chateau.
Can you pls make a Video of the Rooms that are still missing, that would also really nice. Great Video 👍🏾
Your home is so beautiful…be so proud 👏👏🌟
What do I need this room to do for me? Oh, I know…clean itself.
Bravo à vous deux et à Benoît !
My design rules: First: if you love each piece in your room, they'll work together. I love surprises, too – an odd item tucked into a shelf or cheeky art piece is fun. Second: similar to yours: how do I want the room to feel? Our dining room doesn't have a lot of natural light but I also painted it dark with a sparkly light fixture because I wanted it to feel like a cozy jewelry box. Design is so personal and not everything works for everyone.
I love a mix of styles, personally. And mid-century modern is a great complement to traditional style, which is why I love how the chateau is coming together.
Have you considered designing a fabric and reupholstering your big blue couch?
The blue sofa is so beautiful. It just needs some pretty yellow cushions
Now that the first two floors are "finished" are you thinking about the servant's quarters, dungeon area or attic spaces, as your next, main house project?
I know that you wouldn't get to it for a few years, since the coach house, the grounds and summer sailing, all come first, just wondering which direction your hearts are leaning towards?
V careful renovation but it does not feel like a home.
I love the colour of your blue salon on the ground floor I want something very similar for my dining room feature wall, cany you tell me what it's called please. I remember the chateau when you 1st moved in when you were renovating the top floor to live in. What you've done throughout is beautiful don't think there's a room I don't like 💕
I think you’ve both done an amazing job renovating the chateau giving it your own style, modern yet still keeping the older features as well.
I love the guest powder room the best as it has so much texture and depth, very stylish. I do think some of the side tables & lamps are too small & low for the size of the rooms. With such high ceilings the furniture needs to be proportionate in scale otherwise they look lost in the room.
“You don’t stop walking because you got old- you got old because you stopped walking”
Keep going
Great update on the interior design. A lot of the rooms, especially those downstairs look very empty and sad to me. I wasn’t sure if that was an attempt at minimalism but glad to hear they are still a work in progress! Can’t wait to see them finished!
Wonderful work on the chateau. Modern minimalist gives a great vibe to your home. I love your jacket. What is it made of and who made it?
So nice. Love what you’ve done to the Chateau.
I have renovated and decorated quite a few houses during my life. I worked out with the first one that doing the principal bedroom first was an inspiring booster. I discovered this by accident – I was expecting the second of my four sons and I wanted to bring him home to a perfect sanctuary. I have made it the first priority ever since. Works like a dream.
Love, love, love your kitchen and your style. Minimal yet homey and contemporary is my favorite combination! My husband and I bought our Georgian style new built house in 1983 when we were just 21/27 yrs old. The builder grade finishes with absolutely no embellishments or moldings or built-ins, no classic features all made the house feel (and look) like a basic boring box. While we were raising 3 children we couldn’t afford to renovate so I spent 37 years absolutely hating my house and dreaming of setting it on fire with every stick of furniture in it. It wasn’t until the kids were gone, I retired and COVID happened that we finally had the time & money to focus on creating the vision I originally had when I saw the property in the beginning. Now, 5 years in, we’ve DIY’d 8 out of 15 rooms (top to bottom) and don’t plan to stop until it’s all done. Since we’re now in our late 60s, it’s been a huge challenge to do it all by ourselves but we’ve managed to do it, one room at a time. Now it’s beautiful and full of personality and custom craftsmanship. As of today, the value of the property is currently more than 5x what we paid for it and by the time we’re done (in 2030), it will be priceless….at least to us it will be, plus it will be stronger and sounder for the at least the next 50 years thereafter, long after we’re gone – which is a wonderful way for our kids to inherit the house (such peace of mind for us to enjoy our golden twilight in the only place I now want to call HOME)!
I love your honesty, admitting the redirected philosophy as your renovation journey evolved. Naturally, more work is ahead of you in the chateau as your family grows and needs change. Embrace every season of life! Perhaps one day you'll again be hosts for weary travelers or students looking for hands-on classes in Anna's workshop! So many avenues of adventure await. Blessings to all!
I have been following you for so many years (i had started my engineering degree and now i am four years in), it has been amazing to be able to follow you in this journey. I think both of you are very creative and passionate.
The feeling of your videos is just so human, as if a family member is telling a story. Wish you the best!
I just saw a video of the de Gournay wallpaper shop in Paris. It made me think of you and your own wallpaper. There are so many beautiful ideas there. I hope you can go there and take us with you.
The colors in your homework so well together.
The mural in the downstairs bathroom is fabulous.
I so miss wall art. Are you planning on leaving them as is, or adding decorative pieces in the future?
I love what you've done! The mix of styles works brilliantly and feels like a family home.
The girls rooms are so cosy, they can adapt to the girls changing needs. And your master suite is perfection, and despite having our own tiny walk in wardrobe, I'm so envious of your dressing room. The pops of rust are just right.
Love your vibe and colors …. a labor of love paying off beautifully for you.
You both have done a beautiful job on renovating your home and decorating. I have watch your videos from the day 1 when you began and always thought that your home to be beautiful and uncluttered; and you are living in a family home, not a museum with just stuff everywhere. Well done and love your logic on your decorating. Beautiful.
I think this is your best tour yet!! Such a beautiful place based on hard work, skill, enthusiasm and of course Benoit! 😉
Amazing to see! Could you please mention all the Little Greene paint colours that you used?
You both have excellent good taste.❤
Words are not enough, it is the most beautiful home. I love it all! ❤
Of all the chateau channels I follow, your decorating philosophy and results are my favorites. Unlike those with too much bling and clutter, your home is simply elegant, comfortable, inviting and peaceful. Above all it is original because it reflects your tastes, not the latest and soon to be gone fashion, or a slavish attempt at copying something from two centuries ago. Thank you so much for taking us on a truly beautiful and informative tour.
Amazed by all walls colors you have chosen, various green & blue shades. Excepted the orange brûlé of the dining room, too dark & not airy enough from my pov. Your rénovation is a true achievement though
Where I live now it originally wasn't mine it was my husbands as we had separated for over 5 years but we got back together over 3 years ago and it wasn't until we went shopping that I felt that connection to this place, we got a new kitchen and added some really nice (very expensive too) furniture that it felt homely, maybe it was to do with the fact my husband bought it but now I love going home and I just love cooking in our kitchen so I totally understand where you are coming from about that connection
I really love the new rooms ❤ great style AND cozy!
Stunning! You guys have done an amazing job!
As a life long curtain maker I believe your dinning room curtains could be perfect in red shot orange taffeta silk😮
At this point my favorite part is how Philip includes the squarespace ad hahah
what about a rug under the table in the dining room?
Just a suggestion, maybe trade out the wooden dining room table for a glass table, oval in shape. Mixing up your style is inspiring. Love the Kitchen redo of course. Going back to the guest powder room, the wallpaper surely is my favorite creation like an artistic happening. Enjoying your home is key to true happiness, or what's the point. Great dressing room, btw, and bath redo is an amazing accomplishment. Lovely collection of art adds to the lush styling and ambiance without being overdone. Yes, always a learning trek, without the memory there wouldn't be a story. Btw, Ziggy is so adorable. Thanks for sharing!
Great job on chateau, renovation. I Love how every room, is beautifully decorated. #XOMacenna I believe you’ll enjoy watching, Anna and Philippe in France❤️
The kitchen is my absolute dream room. All of it is beautiful though!
The mural in your main floor powder room is absolutely beautiful!! You are so talented.
I didn’t see the other girls room, neither did we see the top floor. Otherwise, the different room and hall colors are beautiful. Why not show us the insides of the closets in the dressing room, etc. I woud have liked to see the inside the pantry or open the fridge.
