French fries recipe you can try at home:
Ingredients:
4 large potatoes
Cold water (for soaking)
Salt (to taste)
Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)
Instructions:
1. Peel & Cut:
Peel the potatoes (optional).
Cut them into sticks—about ¼ to ½ inch thick.
2. Soak:
Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 10-15 minutes (or up to 2 hours).
This removes excess starch, making them crispier.
3. Dry:
Drain and thoroughly pat dry with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel. Moisture causes oil splatter and soggy fries.
4. Fry :
Fry the potatoes in batches for 6–7minutes until golden and crispy.
6. Season & Serve:
Sprinkle immediately with salt or your favorite seasoning.
Serve hot with ketchup, mayo, or your favorite dip!
