Is it just me or is the editing style on this video over the top compared to previous videos? To me anyway, it just seemed too much. I don't mind the snappy edits with silly overlays, but there was just WAY too much in this one. Also, the video didn't feel finished. It just ended without the usual "satisfied" feeling I normally get when watching a Food Theory video.
After watching this I realized after giving all of these new presenters a go, I don’t think I’ll enjoy this or any of these channels without a Mat Pat voice over (style theory is good though)

Alternatively, cook them without oil in an air fryer. Might be a bit more bland, but it will be slightly healthier. And it gives you the crunch people like to see/hear.
One massive thing I'd like to point out is you can kind of measure how much fry oil got into the fries by measuring how much is left afterwards. It's not completely accurate down to the gram, but you can use it as an estimate to get an idea of how it cooked, and I'd like to see that. If Alton could measure how much oil got in his frying when he did a Good Eats on it, so can Food Theory.

I really find it funny how Burger King and McDonald's and whatnot used to use Tallow back in the day but because so many vegans and vegetarians complained about not being able to eat the fries because they're deep fried in Tallow instead of seed oil they had to switch it up 😂😅👌

I bake my fries and we like them better that way. When you avoid eating all of that oily, greasy food for a while you get used to eating things without it and the greasy stuff starts to taste worse than things that are baked. Maybe you should make an episode where you try to find the best way to bake fries, what can be done to make them taste really good?
How about baked fried with oils? Compare maybe?

Santi! Vimos tu video y nos encantó, como siempre. Ojalá cheques el tema de la inflamación causada por los aceites vegetales y la facilidad de metabolización de las grasas animales, que son mucho del motivo para el cambio de aceite. En casa estamos usando aceite de oliva puro (el económico, digamos) para freír y el resultado es buenísimo. Para cocinar con poco aceite, mantequilla y grasas animales han probado ser muy benéficas.

The disadvantage in this experiment is that the control was the cooking temp and time. I have made beef talow fries at home that were super crunchy and flavorful you just have to change the temp and cook time by increasing the temp.
The one thing you missed about canola and vegetable oil is that it's the highest out of these oils to cause inflammation and actually lowers your DHA levels, which is detrimental to your brain development

I wish they talked about smoke points, where oils become dangerous from getting too hot. It's very low (bad) for olive oil, medium for avocado and high for animal fats.
Also wish they touched on why heart disease very closely correlates with restaurants switching away from animal fats. When looking at the LDL and HDL content, beef tallow can increase the healthy cholesterol your body needs to clean plaque. I believe everyone should be switching to tallow and this particular video is very important for what path the industry will take.
So the question is are we going to be making sure that vegan and vegetarian people cant eat out.
I heard that maccas and other restaurants stopped using tallow because it made it so vegans/vegitatians couldnt have the fries and because it made the fries and fish so catholics, lutherans and anglicans technically couldnt have them on fridays durring lent

I'm disappointed in this video saying "At the suggestion of the secretary of health" with no commentary on how the current secretary of health has been pushing conspiratorial falsehoods about health that have no bearing on existing research and dangerously throw away decades of scientific knowledge that have already lead to numerous injuries and deaths. You should not mention him at all if the point of the video is to make any commentary about health, let alone try to point to him even indirectly as a theoretical authority on the subject. Please do better in the future.
