Yes, a second video this week! I am too excited to share this with you so I decided to post this video straight away! We have made some changes to our kitchen. You may remember the video in which I honestly shared that I still felt a few things were off.
In this video we’re making slight changes but they make all the difference!

Ha Marloes, je hoeft helemaal niets uit te leggen of te verklaren. Als jij jouw deuren pimpelpaars met knalgroene stippen wilt schilderen, dan doe je dat lekker 🙂Overigens ben ik van mening dat de deuren geschilderd inderdaad veel beter bij de rest van je schitterende keuken passen. Tegels kun je trouwens ook schilderen, maar dat zal wel snel slijten, ben ik bang. Morgen fase 3 voor mij en het traject begint vruchten af te werpen 🙂 Mooie week gewenst xxx
Your home looks warm, stylish, collected and welcoming. I love decorating our walls with art, even if it’s not technically art, like with your newsprint and notecards. I like the idea of letting your heart guide you and not so much adhere to “the rules.”
I agree with you about the floor and ceiling being almost the same color. Made you feel like the white paper inside a book cover. Now the ceiling color lets you fly free.

Yaaaaaay!!! I love all the colour you are adding!!! Colour always adds warmth, I don't care what anybody says. It just depends on the kind of colours and how they are being combined with eveyrthing else that is going on in the space. I have always loved your colour palettes but after I while , the rooms started to make me feel ''blah '' inside. I always thought it was me and being a bit all over the place (emotionally and mentally..lol) but in actual, it wasn't that at all (at least I don't think so..lol). There was something missing , I wasn't being called or pulled into that space and it was because it was missing pops of colour here and there. The pillow cushion is just the beginnig Marlow, you just wait and see. I can't wait to see the other discoveries you're going to make on this wonderful journey!! You are most certainly getting inspired from all the beautiful homes you visit as well. Keep up with the wonderful creations and thank you so much for sharing with us all 🙂. Your kitchen vision or what you've shared of that vision is beautiful. What you're doing now is what I'd consider, 'tweaks.' Being true to yourself is what makes you so inspirational. I love your kitchen and the floor to me, is part of the charm of this room. Most likely you haven't seen as many ugly bloody red tomette tiles as I have while living in France. I hated those tiles in that color and I found them just so creepy. The honey color like you have makes them so traditional yet modern at the same time.

I like the doors painted white. I hang my pictures, if hanging one at eye level. I note that most people when hanging one they hang it just way too high. If I have a grouping, I still don’t hang them too high. I do like all the white painting you did and the ceiling. All looks lovely with your new cushion covers too and pretty flowers. Well done.

I loved your video about "romanticizing your life" and then saw this one, which I also loved. The way you framed the newspaper ad is so sweet.
Adding warmth to the walls by way of the gallery wall lifts your eye from the floor! I added a rug under my dining table which really helped break up our reddy/yellow floor boards. Another easy styling option to calm the floor. Love the touch of blue!
It’s all so beautiful – you have such a great eye for design. I have found, at least for me, that adding in dark accents grounds the space and adds a bit of coziness.
I smiled when you were agonising over making the cushions look perfect. Olav and your boys will just come in and slump in them without a thought! That’s what guys do!

I totally get what you are saying and how you feel. I think you need to have the confidence in yourself that your method is a truly good one and so inspirational. Your beautiful home is more stunning as you layer it time by time and although everyone loves the pale interiors the pops of colour are truly what makes a home feel a home and not a magazine cover. I’m going to suggest if you do not mind to have feather filled pads for the cushions and I think you will be surprised at the difference 😊 lots of love x

Thank you for sharing your struggles with design outcomes. You are so detail oriented and have such an eye for design that it’s comforting to know that even someone with your gift of design to have a project not turn out exactly how you wanted once it all came together. It helps me know that things can still not feel right once complete and I too feel guilty when that happens after all the work is done. And I agree if you have the ability to tweak it to make it better, why wouldn’t you ? Love your work and channel. ❤
It turned out beautiful Marloes, and always go for the things you want.. I am not an interior stylist at all but I loves to style our house and maybe I make a lot of mistakes design technical but I love my space and that's more important than that.
