I hate to say it, but if I had to settle for wine from my state (NC) for the rest of my life, I would have to give up wine. Forgive me for being skeptical of Vermont wine! I’m sure the beer and other spirits are great, but wine is just not an East coast thing. Thank the gods for California. 😂 I will still be buying European wine despite the tariffs…lower sulfites make all the difference.

Missouri would be a big winner too! Missouri was once (before prohibition) the biggest wine producer in the country. After prohibition ended, beer production roared back but most winerys never reopened. The industry is currently having a rebirth and producing some pretty good wines.

I live in Alberta and I never see Vermont wine around here. Mostly I see BC, California, and Aussie/New Zealand wine, with some European choices. Mostly I drink California wine because it is better than Canadian or Aussie wines.

I am in favor of this idea. We have so many high-quality domestic wines that we should be promoting. I would like to see the American Wine industry experience more growth. If the wine snobs must have the European stuff, I am fine with them having to pay through the nose.
