As a Torontonian I love coming down to Buffalo to attend Sabres and Bandits games. I’ll miss that, but I will never step foot in the US again. I’ll spend my money in my own country. And don’t think that I’m the only one here that feels that way, not by a longshot. Border cities are especially going to hurt such as Buffalo, Detroit, etc. WNYers know how much money Canadians spend in your area. Don’t think we’re happy about doing this though, but when you’re bullied, you have to stand up for yourself. It’s so sad it has come down to this. Why can’t the powers that be just sit down and negotiate to the interest of both countries?
WSJ called tariffs foolish. Every school kid knows the history of tariffs and that they don't work. Cheeto Jesus signed the trade agreement with Mexico and Canada in his last term, now he says we are being treated unfairly? If so, it is then his fault by his own admission.
Trade deficits are a totally NORMAL indicator of trade – IT IS NOT A PROBLEM TO BE ADDRESSED, ESPECIALLY WITH TARIFFS. Trade imbalances are due to different amounts of buying levels from the trading partners. Here's how it works: Country A's populace is large and has a huge amount of disposable income and can therefore afford to spend lots of money on imports from Country B. Country B's populace is smaller and has less wealth, so they import less into their country from Country A – they simply can't afford it. So, the Trade Deficit in this case is an indicator that Country A's population is greater and wealthier than that of Country B. There is NO REASON to implement tariffs based on a trade imbalance. None. Makes no sense.
“It’s not a game.” Exactly, this tariff war started by Trump will hurt small businesses as well as large corporations. People will lose their jobs. He needs to stop this nonsense.

Why don't they just start selling American Wine? I have heard that Napa Valley in California has a good Wine. I am from a little country in Eastern Europe. We drink our own. We don't drink French.
So no more Rioja, Ribera, Bordeaux or Borgogne, from now on Americans will be condemned to drink only that overpriced and harsh Napa wine.. 😁 Well, not that Trump voters will be affected by that tariff, they only drink Coca-Cola and Budweiser.
