Bread Around the World: The French Baguette 🌍

Did you know about 12 million people visit French bakeries daily, and over 6 billion baguettes are baked in France every year? Talk about baguette love! 🇫🇷✨

Back in 1993, France passed a law called the Decret Pain, defining exactly what makes a baguette authentic—crunchy, golden, and irresistible! And did you know there’s even a competition to crown the best baguette baker? The prestigious “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” happens every four years, where master bakers compete for glory.

I recently tried baking baguettes at home myself. Let’s just say the results were tasty but maybe not exactly baguette-shaped—my mom thought they looked more like breadsticks! 😂

Still, they were delicious, stretchy inside, and had that signature crunch. Perfect shape or not, homemade baguettes are definitely worth it!

  3. I don't understand why you're surprised there's baguette making competitions. We have pie making competitions and chili making competitions and barbecue competitions. "There's EVEN baguette making competitions" like of course there is

  4. Could you please give me the ingredients + measurements? I'd like to make these. Btw, as a french girl (ik, im french but i've never made baguettes 😪 ) they look so yummy! There are baguettes made with seeds on top, and they pair soo well! hope you enjoyed them!
