It does nothing. You just feel drunk faster with a slight head high. The head high is like a VERY, and i do mean VERY MILD weed hit from a joint. Its pretty middle of the road and tastes like pure ass.
Absinthe has never actually caused anything similar to hallucinations or tripping. However, copper vertigris caused all sorts of really harmful effects, and it's probably true that some crooks tried to pass off cheap moonshine as absinthe by dyeing it with poisonous copper vertigris, so it was probably true that there have been people tripping balls who thought they drank absinthe, even though they hadn't.
Absinthe is lovely, as long as it’s of good quality and you don’t abuse it too much. If you drink it obsessively of course it’s gonna hurt you, as does every drink with a high ABV.
I've drank absinthe several times, and he's completely right. Nothing close to tripping happened, and it mostly felt like regular alcohol, I would say it did feel a little less hazy then standard drunkness.
Isnt alcohol just alcohol no matter what form it comes in? Its like weed with buds, hash, extracts and combos of those, people say they feel diferent but its just one is stronger than the other, even tho i do feel weed can change a bit cuz of different cannabinoids, but im pretty sure alchool is just ethanol no matter what you do, unless you had another drug into the mix

Absinthe tastes pretty good, feels like hell coming up in a belch/ into the toilet after a little too much but overall decent.

As far as I remember from when I was around during the mad times. Absinthe was often drunk with Laudanum, and the Laudamum caused the madness.
